Haven't had a chance to watch this yet (waiting for the Friday re-airing), but despite not caring for the DC movies I'm pretty excited. I'm just hoping it's not Law & Order/NCIS/CSI with a Bat-skin.

I saw it and found it entertaining enough. It's definitely well executed -- looks good with a great cast that delivers some solid performances. I'm just a little skeptical that it will have a lengthy run. I think the main problem is that is suffers from the same disadvantage that all prequels have. It wants to appeal to the built-in audience for Batman but without actually having Batman. It feels like they are trying just a little too hard to remind you that this is Batman's city. Is it really necessary to allude to at least six Batman villains in the very first episode?

I think that is necessary, yes. And not just for Gotham. All shows should mention at least a half dozen Bat villains every week.
Seriously though, I'm not crazy about the idea of it being a showcase of villains before they were villains. Then again, I quit watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pretty quickly due to a lack of big names.

I have to say that I enjoyed the 1st episode a lot more than I thought I would. Fish Mooney is my favorite character so far. In case you're not aware, you can watch the show free at any time on Hulu.

I liked it enough to come back for another episode, but I have my doubts that I'll be there for it every week. What I really wanted was this... Maybe they'll skip ahead a decade for Season 2?

I have zero interest in the show. I didn't like the Nolan/Bale movies, which this seems to be emulating, and the entire premise leaves me cold. I'll just wait for the DVD release of the '66 series, thanks.

I'll probably just wait for it to be put on Netflix, unless the subsequent episodes get rave-reviews.

My Cable Company - provides reruns of this show for free and I'm planning on watching tomorrow or Saturday. I'm very curious about this ...

I didn't have much hope for this show given that prequels generally don't appeal to me. This was actually a pleasant surprise though, not great but a solid start. The deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne have always had an emotional impact on me and I feel FOX handled the more touching scenes well here. They also did a good job of making James Gordon pretty bad-ass in his first scene. Donal Logue is quite good as Harvey Bullock and Jada Pinkett Smith gives a pretty good performance as well. Some of the easter eggs felt heavy handed but I feel like I need to rewatch it just to catch all of them.

I thought it was great! I will be back for every episode. I really like Detective Gordon. If this show does well it could very well grow into a Gotham Central series someday.

I was pleasantly surprised, as well! Fish Mooney is probably my favorite character and is the most intriguing to me. A) because she is not an established character within the Bat-uverse and B) who doesn't love Jada Pinkett Smith. I love what she ahs brought to the role. I had no expectations going in, although upon hearing the basis, I was like bah...but it turned out very interesting. I don't mind the villains, but a large influx of them would not be good in my eyes. I think we kind of need to explore what they have thrown out there and not overload us all at one time... Overall, was very impressed with how it turned out!

Strykerx2k and Earth 2 Flash - Old pals from the previous forums - I just finished watching it and it was exactly what they said it was and I was very pleased by this show start. Count me in as fan of this show. Randle-El made a very key point and I want to quote from him
Randle-El said "Is it really necessary to allude to at least six Batman villains in the very first episode?" ... I say that was an slight overkill showing all these Batman villains for the 1st show alone.
I give the show a B+ for the initial episode!
