Here's a pic of Kirby doing an in store signing, not sure of the date, trying to make out the books on the shelf to give it some time context... -M The issue of Starslayer #4 in the dead center of the picture, and the issue of Comics Scene Magazine #2 would put it in somewhere the summer of 1982, at least that was my first thought--
However, looking further, there is also a copy of ROM #40 (cover date March 1983), and the Conan one-shot special, which is also dated early 1983. This would more likely put the actual date somewhere in late Autumn/ Winter 1982.
Then inclusion of Silver Star #1 in the top right of the shelf would also support my revised projection of November-December 1982.
On the upper shelf there is an issue of Sabre, that appears to be #1...... Which came out in April of 1982. The Comics Journal issue, near the bottom, appears to be #76 Which was dated October 1982.

Pretty much. If anyone would bother to actually read the story within, they would find out that it actually anything but pro-fascist. But hey-- it's become a cult collectible for the cover art alone.
The price is because it's become an internet phenomenon. Just like the Rifleman log cover and the various Archie covers that can be read as double entendres.
Some folks are easily amused.

Bob Layton has done an Iron Man/Mandalorian image. Here it is:

Does Layton live in Seoul now?

It’s a shame Twitter has become X. I don’t know why he is obsessed with the letter X, Twitter sounds better.
But name changes aside, other changes irk me. It used to be - at least via my mobile phone - that you could share a tweet with someone who doesn’t have a Twitter account. It seems you can’t do that now. It also seems you can no longer embed a tweet, or a video in a tweet, on any forum since the change to X.
Well, that aside, the ‘Drink and Draw’ night sounds interesting, and a different theme each week sounds fun. I presume Layton lives in Seoul now. Hope he shares more sketches.

The tweet says: With the drawing above. Does Layton live in Seoul now? Apparently. Loved his Iron Man work and Hercules, plus his inking work on other series, going back to Charlton; but, his role in the backstage coup that ousted Jim Shooter from Valiant kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, so you only know the artist through their work.

I was just over at Mike's Amazing World and noticed that not only is someone maintaining it, but there have been additions. Mad Magazine was always conspicuously missing from the site, but now issues 1-109 are on there.
So happy that this amazing resource is being maintained.

I don’t know if the site always featured UK reprint comics, but I don’t recall them doing so. However, I seem to be seeing a lot now, so I don’t know if that’s something that’s been added.

There have been adjustments over time. For a while, indie comics didn't show there, with some exceptions; but, now you can see things like Blackthorne releases. I wanna say the notice posted after his death mentioned that he had all kinds of notes and things, in preparation of additions. I believe he had been working on adding character appearance chronologies (previous appearance, next appearance) is in the DC entries.

This is, I feel, a great cover by Björn barends: Looks good; but, I don't think he understands that those are supposed to be functional buttons on the wristbands, that activate their powers, rather than a decorative or protective element. Originally, Alex Toth designed the activator buttons on a belt buckle, then switched to the wristbands. They also changed the color scheme of the costume and the basic lines of it.
