Man, the Batman one....reminds me of Freddie Mercury, in the last music video that he shot, with Queen, for "The Days of Our Lives."

First I've seen of it. The only Roy Thomas Conan reference book I was aware of was the Ultimate Guide book published by DK (which I have not read and do not own a copy of so I cannot vouch for its quality) The only relatively recent Conan guide/reference I do have and recommend is Conan the Phenomenon but I'd be interested to know more about the book your asking about if others have read/seen it -M

If I hear of any reviews, I’ll share them.
I had no idea DK had done a Conan book. Got a few DK books here. I shall seek that out.

Speaking of Conan, today is the sad anniversary of Robert. E. Howard's suicide.
Suicide is a terrible thing. So much loss and heartbreak. Please, if you, or anyone you know is struggling and contemplating taking their own life or doing self harm, talk to someone. You or they are not alone. If there is no other recourse, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The number is 988.
Reach out and check in with your friends, kith and kin. Let them know they are loved and appreciated. It is much better to have them be here than to have to write memorials for them on the anniversary of their deaths.

It's kind of sad really, I wish he could have lived to see the praise his books got or how insistent his mother was in trying to get Dunces seen and published

I haven’t read it…or the other two volumes. They are put out by a very small publisher Pulp Hero Press that specializes in pulp and comic related paperbacks and e-books. I’m guessing the physical print-run is super small.

That thing is as exhuastive as you could get on the film. I would assume a similar level of scholarship for Conan, especially with a Moorcock intro.

On sale 45 years ago today: I wonder if this showed up in the UK! I loved this back in the day, and would always make sure I had it in my tiny budget to pick up a copy each month. My wife recently gave me a copy of the trade paperback reprint... It was just a sampling of puzzles from the various issues, and many of them had been "updated" so that instead of the hint being "Natalie ______" for Wood, it had been changed to "Elijah _______". that kind of thing. Pretty infuriating. The cover was super ugly, and not nearly as inventive as the classic covers...

Look what original art turned up at Heritage Auction. How many times has this been in the Cover Contest?

I have a feeling the bids will greatly exceed this current $2400...

Came across this today on facebook Yeah, I've remarked about that in a couple of threads, here. I have also seen the suit colored green, instead of red, in the Nostalgia Press edition of the Flash Gordon reprints. Not sure if they recolored it or got it from a source that recolored. It was not unknown for different newspapers to have color variations on the Sunday strips or in foreign editions. The Phantom's costume was depicted as several colors, including grey and red, before it was pretty much universally light purple. I first saw it in the Kitchen Sink edition, which is where I finally got the entire Alex Raymond run, after seeing the first two volumes of the Nostalgia Press editions. I later bought all of the Nostalgia Press volumes, which is where I saw the recoloring. Nostalgia Press never did reprint the last Raymond storyline, where they return to Earth and help defeat a fascist army. Kitchen Sink included that and the first series of Austin Briggs strips.
