It wouldn't surprise me if the rumor were true, as I've always been surprised DC let Starlin call out a foreign leader directly, but I've neither heard nor seen anything to confirm it. I'll take a look through my foreign editions, but I'm not sure I'll be able to determine much without being able to comprehend the languages. Ah, the man himself! I'm honored ... and also curious, how many copies of ADitF do you own, just in English? Like, do you have the very first trade? One of the later ones that bundles it together with "A Lonely Place of Dying"? You do me too much honor, sir. I'm actually not home this week, so I can't count for sure, but I think I have eight copies of #428, 4 or 5 of #427 and #429, and three copies of #426. I have at least one newsstand and one direct copy of each, and yes, I do have the first print of the trade. I've considered collecting later editions as well, but I haven't gone that far yet.

the FF were always more Science Adventurers than superheroes. Given that they were competing against DC - whose biggest comics were edited by science fiction veterans Mort Weisinger and Julius Schwartz, and often written by actual sci-fi writers - this doesn't surprise me.

Shall we continue this little research tour in your ADitF-dedicated thread, then? And leave this one for more generalized topics? For instance... does anyone else here have especially interesting floppies-to-trade rewrites they've noticed over the years? The one I personally find most hilarious is the sheer amount of continuity ass-covering DC did over the New 52 Titans. I don't even like the Titans and it had me going, "Jesus, DC, you just don't know when to leave well alone, do you?"

That makes me smile, Deadpool is an awesome character (particularly fun in the 90's), and Liefeld gets picked on plenty here but it's a cool cover and made history. For years I could not believe Deadpool had not gotten a movie when everyone was getting one, glad to see he finally made the bigtime.

Continuing about those early Marvel superheroes. Here is a long, very interesting post on Facebook. I am not suggesting anyone agree with this person's conclusions, which he clearly states is speculation. But he does a good job of pointing out the peculiarities of those first Iron Man stories and how little seemed plan. For these, Stan had little, if any involvement at all (despite the plot credit) www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10160465990019366&set=gm.3927534404191763&idorvanity=1758159214462637

Reading these MC "fantasy" stories, so many of the plots are about a husband who is henpecked by his wife and constantly told he's inferior to other men, only for him to find some way to defeat the monster and save the Earth, winning the eternal love and devotion of his wife. Are we sure Stan Lee didn't write these?

Comic book Deadpool just never clicked for me and I tried like hell to read the Joe Kelly run

I assume most of us are familiar with the original Red Tornado's awkward early departure from the first meeting of the Justice Society of America: What never occurred to me to question until today is: how did she snag the bottom of her long johns coming through the window but lose the part that was around her legs?! (surely the Flash didn't run and strip them off of her at super-speed and bring them back to show the boys how she'd lost the seat of her pants...)

Shared on Twitter: First I’ve heard of this comic. I have read other British action comics - one was called Action - but not the one above.
