Graphic Policy has a short article about the relaunch of Atlas Comics for their 50th anniversary, their publishing and media plans, their NYCC booth, and mentions the Mego line of figures debuting there that we have been discussing and showing preview pics of down in the toy section. Looks like a Devilina movie in the works and relaunch of the comic line with Grim Ghost, Hands of the Dragon an Phoenix being the first attempts. Jeff Rovin and Jason (grandson of Martin) Goodman are behind the relaunch, and they have partnered with Walmart for this reluanch which is planne dto include movies, merch & apparel and comics. -M PS for a look at the Mego figures based on the line look in this thread in the toy section 'Cause Rovin did such a bang-up job the first time.......... I kid...and I actually liked Grim Ghost, and Phoenix was an interesting idea, though Sal Amendola's art was better than Rovin's writing. However, this has "meh...." written all over it. Kind of fitting for a company with a legacy of failed promises. Let me know if Chaykin signs onboard to revive The Scorpion and have him crossover with Dominic Fortune.

I liked more than a few original Atlas/Seabard; but have trouble raising much enthusiasm for yet another revival. This is what, the second or third attempt at a revived Atlas?

If various sites are accurate, the first issue of Marvel UK’s Dracula Lives went on sale 50 years ago today: The title reprinted Tomb of Dracula. It ran for 88 issues, and also reprinted other supernatural tales.

Forty five years ago today, Marvel UK published these comics: I was never a big fan of Paul Neary's work, but I think this cover was one of his better efforts. The kid pointing at Spidey seems to have been copied and pasted from Amazing Spider-Man #189's splash page by John Byrne and Jim Mooney.

I agree with Steve Bissette's musing of "keeping the collection in Vermont" to be studied and appreciated rather than going into some vault of well-off trust fund baby

This is what remains of Paper Films' (Jimmy Palmiotti's comic publishing company) inventory of comics and trades after their warehouse was flooded in the wake of Milton's making landfall in Florida... The office was physically in the back room of a comic store, so a lot of their inventory was lost int he flood as well. -M
