Finally , we left the show at around 230 pm and as we were walking back to the parking garage, we were asked by some guys still looking to score tickets in order to re-sell them if we had anything for them. . Yeah man, I got my use out of my badge so I made a Kool 10 dollars by selling it to this enterprising person .

I'm not sure who these are supposed to be , but the woman's costume was amazing. This is the cast of Archer - Dr. Krieger, Cryil Figgis, Lana Kane, and Sterling Archer. Here's Lana and Cyril in the show wearing almost identical outfits: Dr. Krieger and Sterling Archer:

After getting those books, I wandered around and figure I better snap some pix- This young lady was handing out cards for a booth and I asked her politely if I could take a pic. Generally all the cosplay people love having their picture taken but I figured she was " On the job". She said yes. This is a Rick and Morty reference.

Nice recap and pics. I've never been to NYCC, but had wanted to go up until a few years ago when I heard that they had reached SDCC-size attendance levels. I usually only go to a couple of shows a year. I always have a great time at Baltimore and although they have been slowly increasing the celebrity presence, I feel safe in saying that they are pretty firmly a comic-focused event. The other show I usually go to is Awesome Con in DC. In terms of comics vs. celebrity crowds, they are definitely trying to be a "something for everyone" show, so I don't enjoy the show as much as Baltimore. But it's fairly big show with enough to interest comic collectors, and it's 30 minutes from my house so it's pretty easy for me to attend.
I heard there was a lot of theft at NYCC this year. I follow some comic art forums on Facebook, and apparently someone stole some original cover art from Erik Larsen's table. The thief had the gall to come back and ask Erik to sign it, at which point he called the guy out and he bolted. Greg Pak tweeted that someone stole a stack of Superman comics straight off his table.
Re: Joe Staton -- I heard from an exhibitor at NYCC that for most of the creators, the hosts only cover the table, so creators pretty much have to pay their own way there. I'm assuming that the top-tier A-list guys get more, but the rest have to recoup the expensive NYC costs on their own. Hearing from folks who have seen the same creator at other shows, there's definitely a price increase on things like signatures, sketches, original art, etc. Jason Fabok was apparently selling *head sketches* for over $1000 at NYCC, compared to other shows where they sold for maybe half of that.

I have been to the Baltimore show about three times and It's the best show I've ever attended. I have missed it the last 4 years, though. I wasn't crazy about the unbelievably large crowds in Sundays show. Usually the Sunday show is getaway day but Maybe because it's NY and the next day was a federal holiday accounted for the huge attendance. No one charged me for autographs but I only got three.

A close friend of mine went on Friday with his son who dressed up in the big white costume. He told me the name of the character but I forgot
