I really want to read more stuff from the 40's & 50's so I am always looking for sales of trades of this kind of stuff. I have read most everything I wanted to from the 60's, 70's & 80's. The 90's was a decade that I have gone back & tried some stuff I skipped over. And I passed on a lot of stuff in the 90's. So that would be a goal for me.
One publisher I really enjoyed in 2018 was Archie. Both the new material and reading collections from the 40's & 50's. I want to continue to pick up their older stuff. Both the gang from Riverdale and the MLJ superheroes.

I've been taking part in this tradition the past few years and thought there was no reason to discontinue it, so here we go:
Buying Goals Pick up a copy of Daredevil #65, which will complete my run on the series.
That's it. I may pick up some other books throughout the year (I'm partial to cheap Silver Age and early Bronze Age Marvel, especially Hulk and Sub-Mariner issues, and I'd be fine if I could get some pre-Crisis Flash), but that's the only book I'm focused on buying in 2019. Anything else is just gravy.
Reading Goals Read at least 1,000 stories from my collection that I've never read before. I used that term because I have a number of collected editions that I bought previously that have been sitting unread on my bookcase. However, I'm not going to keep track of them in the Reading Club thread, because then it seems like homework and I tend to lose interest in it, so I'd like it to be more casual than that.
Reviewing Goals Post at least 26 new reviews in my Captain America thread. That works out to one every two weeks, which should be doable.
Those are all the resolutions I'm committing to trying to accomplish. Anything beyond that would just put unnecessary pressure on me and cause me to lose focus on what I actually want to do in 2019.

My goals are going to be relatively simple. I am not really planning on buying a lot and focuse more on reading what I already have.
Reading Goals: Read my entire backlog. About 30 physical comics, 6 collected editions and about 50 digital comics.
Acquisition goals: Not much. Buy a few select collected editions and maybe a few issues of Sandman mystery theather or The spirit to fill out some of the wholes in my collection. But its not really a pressing issue for me. If I end up not getting any its not really that bad.

Okay, I will continue my trend and try to pick five goals.
1. Finish my run of ASM from 100-400. Currently missing about ten issues, one of which is #129. The rest are much later. I doubt I acquire a 129 but to get everything else would be nice☺️ 2. Read more. This year was a great year in terms of accumulating a ton of great books. This year the focus will be slightly less on buying and more on reading. 3. Add at least five golden age comics. I own three currently and want more. Horror titles have skyrocketed but war and westerns seem doable and there are some gorgeous covers out there. 4. More twenty cent Batman stuff. Be it Detective issues or Batman, I want to add more of these issues because I love the covers from that time period. 5. Continue to collect on a budget. This past year I spent about $90 a month on comics. I sold a lot but also bought a lot and it averaged out to around $2 a book which is great considering some of the stuff I added to the collection. This year I want to see how much better I can do at selling and flipping comics. With three long boxes of stuff to purge, I will set my sights there and continue to try and move stuff along so I can buy stuff I want.

When I go to shows, I'm going to try to pick up reader copies of 60s stuff like Dennis the Menace, Little Lulu, and other "funny" books. Also, to try to find reasonably-priced classic strip collections.

I never stick to these, but this will finally be the year I’m successful! Maybe these were the same things I wrote last year, but: - buy less than previous years, both physical and digital
- read more than previous years, both physical and digital
- average at least one comic read a day, but hopefully 100 a month
- part of that reading will be Justice League of America one issue per day starting with Brave and the Bold 28

Already begun my resolutioning! Stopped at my LCS over the holiday weekend to dig through their used discount HUB store. Didn't need to dig at all. As I walked in the front stand had 3 goodies just waiting for me it seems. They were preparing for the big New Years day sale and had set up stacks of pre-packed sets of comics. 20 issues for $10 the going price and would be on sale for $5 on the 1st. I was 2 days early but since I have shopped with Alan's store since the beginning of time (his time actually: 1979) I was given the sale pricing.
3 packs so i received 60 comics for $15. What a bargain for well loved and used and mostly never read by me before comic books.
Pack 1: Set of 20 Tarzan comics. 4 from Darkhorse: Tarzan the Lost Story by ERB and Joe Landsdale a 4 issue series printing the final ERB story of Tarzan left unfinished with chapter pages by different artists. The other 16 were all from the Marvel run of 77-78' with issues from 12, 13 annual #2 and issues 16 through 28.
Pack 2: 20 assorted war comics from Charlton comics. Mostly from early 80's which were all reprints from the 60's or 70's. Some nice stories drawn by Tom Sutton, Don Perlin and Pat Boyette though and many from Filipino artists.
Pack 3: another 20 assorted war comics: all DC. Mix of Unknown Soldier from early 80's with sweet Dick Ayers and Gerry Taloac artistry and a few Our Fighting Forces with the Losers and some Men of War with Gravedigger also from the 80's.

No specific goals, but as always, I'd like to make a good dent in my backlog of newer stuff - say from the last 10 years or so. The older stuff I'm not so worried about, I like having it there to dip into whenever I feel in the mood for something, but the more recent things are really building up.
