 As I'm sure nearly every single one of you knows, Edmond Hamilton also wrote Superman comics. And Major Brackett is clearly a reference to Leigh Brackett, one of the pioneers of science-fiction known as the "Queen of Space-Opera," and a superb screenwriter ( Rio Bravo, Rio Lobo, The Big Sleep --with William Faulkner and others --, The Empire Strikes Back) and coincidentally, Mrs. Edmond Hamilton.  |

And to bring this totally full circle - Captain Future was not created by Hamilton, but by his future (!) Superman editor Mort Weisinger. Although Hamilton apparently made the character into what it was. |
