Slayin' the opposition this week is taxidriver1980, with 5 votes. Distorted into second place are pinkfloydsound17 and foxley, with 3 votes each. No brain-biting for 3rd place getters kirby101 and bert, who score 2 votes apiece. And something about warp spasms (insert your own pun here), Icctrombone, DubipR, farrar, Prince Hal, and EdoBosnar recieved 1 vote each.

Congrats taxi, I doubt I read more than one or two Slaine books over the years, so it was hard to judge. But you had a pretty cool cover.

Congrats taxidriver I really like the neo-Neal cover I posted, but I'd also considered posting this image below...but then I saw that EdoBosnar had posted it via his Spellbinders cover. The same cover art (with different dialogue) had originally appeared on 2000 AD #336's cover, a wraparound. The Spellbinders issue contains a reprint of #336's story. Exquisite linework IMO.

I would have voted for that one if you'd posted it. The original wraparound cover was much more impressive than the Quality reprint. I think I won £10 for a drawing of Johnny Alpha published in Tharg's Nerve Centre in that prog (lovingly swiped from a drawing by Wally Wood, as I never had an iota of artistic talent).

^^^ I just didn't think it was right to post it, since the image had already been used. But I agree, I think the print quality and coloring on the original 2000AD cover is superior to the reprinted cover. And I would say you must have at least some artistic talent given that you produced a convincing image (whether it's helped by swiping or not), especially since it won a prize--nice work, chaykinstevens
