I thought that had been reverted, since it's been so long. They could do it without Namor I suppose... or maybe the rights just mean Namor's name can't be in the title? I guess we'll see.
That was a very clear hint, though, and usually those hints mean something.
Also, if he wanted to do it, don't you think Cap returning the infinity stones would make a great movie? They could really have fun with teases/Easter eggs... even if it was jut for Disneyflix or whatever they're going to call it.

There is an Eternals movie in the works. The Deviants operated underwater in the Kirby series, my guess this is a shout out to that and elements of the Eternals will be introduced in Black Panther 2 to bring a lot of eyes to a relatively unknown corner of the Marvel U. -M

If I was Marvel, I wouldn't bother with Namor at all - if they could have done it 5 years ago, maybe, but now it will just look like derivitive of Aquabro

Note: I am not looking up how to spell the names of actors because I don't care that much. 1) Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are leaving the franchise. Who else do you think is on their way out? I mean, Scarlet Johansen probably has better things to do once she gets her solo movie. Chris Hemsworth doesn't want to be the only one of the big three Avengers still left. 1) Who will be the villain in Black Panther 2? Black Panther has 3 villains and BP1 used all of them. Malice? The White Wolf? The KKK? That other collector lady who wasn't Mister Little in Kirby's run who's name I forget? I guess they had a dude I never heard of as the main villain in Dr. Strange but it seems like slim pickings. Still, if King Solomon's Frog is a major plot point I will be happy. ALTHOUGH STEGRON THE MOTHER EFFING DINOSAUR MAN IS TECHNICALLY A BLACK PANTHER VILLAIN IF YOU SQUINT! I AM JUST SAYING!!!! 2) Are they going to keep making Avengers movies that is stupid of course they are going to keep making Avengers movies. Who do you think will be the new line-up? I'm honestly hoping for a Spider-Man, Valkyrie, Shang-Chi, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Hawkeye Avengers team. 3) Will there be a new guy playing Captain America and/or Iron Man? I guess Bucky is getting a TV show so he probably won't be the new Cap. Don Cheadle for Iron Man, though, maybe? Maybe Riri Williams from the Bendis run? I'd actually really like to see a young, black, girl Iron Man, but I care 1000 times more "Will this make racist internet shitheads feel bad*" rather than "will this make for a good movie" so I'm biased. 4) Why is there not a Ruffallo Hulk movie. COME ON! 5) So Marvel has the X-men rights back? Next big thing at the end of phase 4 or 5 will be Avengers vs. X-men, I am calling it right now. And it will be every bit as good as the comics. 6) Did you see how Kamala Kahn was not in the Ms. Marvel movie? What is up with that? I think it's important that Marvel utilizes some characters that were not created in 1963 and do not covertly reflect 1963 attitudes. So why are they not showcasing their most important character from the last decade? 7) Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait... Does Marvel have the rights to Galactus back? I try not to get too excited about the monopolistic consolidation of media companies but Avengers and Fantastic Four vs. Galactus? Oooooooh. Damn. * In my defense internet racist shitheads are the worst. I keep thinking that American culture will evolve beyond that and I keep being dissapointed. 1. I think Hawkeye is retired as well.
1b) I'm hoping for an adaption of Coates' first BP arc. So Tetu, Zenzi, the Midnight Angels etc.
2. I think Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man will be the core of the next group.
3. The TV-show will be Bucky and Falcon. Cap gave the SHIELD to Falcon, so I think he'll be the new Cap. Iron Man: Riri could be easily included. Maybe his daughter will grow up to become the new Iron Person in the future.
4. Movie rights and Universal studios.
5. Disney has the X-Men rights. Whether they want to introduce them in the MCU or keep the two seperated for now remains to be seen.
6. She was not in the Ms. Marvel movie because there was no Ms. Marvel movie (smartass mode engaged). If you mean why she wasn't in Captain Marvel, probably because
a). she and Monica would be filling kinda the same role; young girl inspired by Carol.
b). the Captain Marvel movie was set 25 years ago, so introducing her there would not really help them moving forwards. I expect adult Monica and Kamala in Captain Marvel 2.
7. Disney has them, see X-Men. Though the FF are far easier to fit into the MCU rather than the X-Men who already have a dozen or so movies.

Great idea from a Twitter pal of mine: Er, is that a wry comment on the general greatness of ideas that come from Twitter?

No, it is not wry.
Sometimes people say what the mean online. It's a good idea, I feel, and which would explain the FF's absence from recent events.

It's the best way to keep that retro-60's sci-fi vibe that makes the Fantastic Four so fun while also putting them squarely in the present. On top of that, like the flash backs to the 80's in Antman, the time displaced team would add to the feeling that there is a broader world outside what we've seen in the films so far which is a great translation of the "realism" of the Mavel concept that Stan, Jack and company tried to bring to the books in the 60's.

I think it's pretty okay as well. We've seen hints of the broader historical universe with Captain America: First Avenger and with the flashbacks to Hank and Janet Pymn. I'd prefer the FF in their own little corner of the MCU set in the 60s (and without Doom, at least initially). But if they have to be in the present this makes sense. You don't shoe-horn Banner and Stark into creating time travel is you have Reed Richards available.

My apologies, Badwolf, for not understanding what you meant. My fault!
I should have worked that out because in some cover threads, I can't see every cover (I'm told some US photo hosting sites don't show images for those of us in Europe).

I don't think anything will be rebooted. Or rather, anyone. Robert Downey Jr. will forever be Tony Stark in the MCU. Instead, Marvel already seems to be planting the seeds for potential material years down the line.
- We already saw Hawkeye training his daughter to be a future archer. She could be the next Hawkeye. Or maybe Kate Bishop. Hopefully more information is revealed in the Disney Plus Hawkeye series.
- Scott Lang has a daughter, Cassandra Lang. She's around 16 now. Seems like an easy leap to picture here as Stature from the comics.
- Sam will be the new Captain America. Bucky I think eventually goes into the ether.
-I get the feeling Dr. Strange, Captain Marvel, and Black Panther will be mainstays with the next Avengers team. Spider Man I don't know. Scarlet Witch I'm not sure, but I hope so. Same goes for Vision. Both will be in a Disney Plus show. Hulk I think will just become a consulting figure like Beast.
- Guardians 3 will be very interesting. They could go in many directions. Especially if Thor is apart of the group now. Maybe Adam Warlock is built upon.
- Shang Chi is already in development for a film. Don't know if he'll be an Avenger though.
- The Eternals are being made. Don't really know anything about that set of stories.
- Thanos was a big bad, but down the line they could use someone like Galatcus, Dr. Doom, or Kang the Conqueror.
- I hope within the next 7 years The Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, and X-Men are introduced. While I would like to see Namor worked into the universe, and She-Hulk, I think the obstacle of the film rights will make it too hard to get around.
On a personal note, I hope they do Black Knight.

It seems like they just dropped the Adam Warlock thing.
