So, the thread's just turned into a pissing contest about who can name the most captains that aren't on the list? This place is weird sometimes. Really? We don't think so!

Says the rabbit who turned green from holding in his pee Actually I am enjoying seeing everyone's postings of ALL the various Captain's out there. Of course, are many an actual FAVORITE? Not likely, but still goofy silly fun and games none the less. If folks enjoy, then my job as a poll question poster posting questions is accomplished!!!

I'd have to vote for Captain Beefheart if there had ever been a comic (preferably British with an Abba Zabba bar taped to the front).

When I was a kid, I thought Captain from Captain and Tennille was awesome. I have a vivid memory of some stupid TV special where they gave his Captain's hat a burial at sea, and then unveiled a new Captain's hat in a different color. I was very young at the time, too young to realize how stupid and meaningless things on television are.
Only later did I learn that Captain's real name was Daryl Dragon.
And that retroactively justified how cool I originally thought he was.

Who wouldn't go to a concert with "Tennille and the Dragon"?

Another all-time great Captain... ...did he get a promotion? Yes. In The Brave and the Bold #52 (by Kanigher and Kubert), Cloud was promoted from lieutenant to captain. Sgt. Rock and Sgt. Jeb Stuart were promoted to 2nd lieutenant in that same issue (though Rock was almost instantly demoted back to sergeant in his Our Army at War series).
Cei-U! I summon the commission cluster!

That was the one thing that bugged me in Kirby's run on the Losers. Cloud was the CO, yet Capt Storm was senior in rank, by date of rank. Of course, there were mix-ups in his insignia, too, as Kirby at least once drew him with naval captain insignia, which is the equivalent of a bird colonel, in the Army.
