I am not expecting much (and certainly not on the level of creativity brought to the comic Crisis on Infinite Earths), considering its the CWs DC shows, which have been consistently awful for years, with the exception of Black Lightning, but that's probably thanks to the true showrunners not being Greg Berlanti.

Already set my DVD recorder! Gonna be fun! Sunday night right after Supergirl CW has a Crisis Aftermath Special 1 and Tuesday after Flash there is a Crisis Aftermath Special 2. So that makes 5 episodes and then a holiday break until the final 2 episodes. So possibly another Aftermath special before the final 2 to update what has already occurred or they could repeat Aftermath 1 and 2?!?

Holy Crimson Skies of Death! What did you all think of the 1st episode last night for Crisis? Thought it flowed smoothly and didn't waste any time. nice that it started off with a tighter focus upon characters: showing the difference between the shows versus the comics and it quickly took it's own path with changing the story to suit the series. Plenty of interaction of characters (which this mini is all about) along with some strong action scenes. Felt Flash should have had a bit larger part within this episode but Arrow received quite a bit of the larger moments befitting his series actually ending this season. Since it was a Supergirl episode her cast received much more of a plot inclusion and will likely be less in the following episodes.
Everyone shown was given nice moments and some subtle bits I noticed: when doing their heat beam eyes it was Supes who drained out 1st with Kara lasting longer; was it due to Supes having been in Argo City without his powers so that he was less super-charged or was it to showing Kara as having more heart/determination? Ollie providing his daughter's 1st Arrow costume was a quiet heartfelt moment in preparation of what is to come. Very nice Lois/Clark with baby parts playing off the overall Arrowverse focus of family and boy do the Kryptonian's seem to have a thing about baby escape pods and screw everyone else! But very symbolic homage/tribute to Kal coming to Earth and escaping a world's destruction and especially cool that he and Lois are using the same lines of Jor-El and Lara from Superman the movie. Robin's line totally sums up the fan feeling of love for this min-series.
Is it just me or does the irony of Flash/Supergirl having been killed for dramatic value in the comic mini-series as DC felt the 2 of them were "more expendable" characters and here in the television world, they are as Green Arrow notes; the heart and soul and inspiration of all that is the super-heroics world?
Looking forward to the next episodes tonight and tomorrow! And just like the world of comics: a month long wait for the finale! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Loved the first episode, but thought it had some plot issues. (mainly that the majority of the CW Arrowverse characters are way too vastly underpowered for this kind of battle. . I mean, Arrow, Arrowette, and Batwoman are gonna protect the tower??? With what powers exactly? but I loved it, and I liked that they pretty much kept to Supergirl's Earth for the main action on the Supergirl show's episode. unless there is a big "do over".. I like what they have done so far, and have high hopes for the Arrowverse going forward.
the destruction of "Supergirls" Earth. . meaning the cast will end up on "Earth 1" with everyone else oh, and i totally don't buy the ending there. . even tho it's teased for part 2 tonight. Spoiler. . . . no way, no how, does Ollie die in a crossover episode of a show that is not "Arrow"

Spoiler. . . . no way, no how, does Ollie die in a crossover episode of a show that is not "Arrow" Yes, there is gonna be plot issues, and the idea that ground level heroes are going to do much against a "cosmic threat" is rather arguably silly but you gotta have them worked into the story somehow. Might have been more "believable" with having more of the street level folks involved, but in a television show you have budget and time restraints. A throw away scene with Harbinger zapping in the Arrow/Flash teams while saying they were in battle elsewhere protecting the tower would easily been cost effective. Totally agree that no way is Ollie out of the battle, but it is one heck of a traditional comic book final page shock ending. Since the Arrow series has been playing with/leading towards GA's death most viewers would expect that as part of the big finale, so this was a nice shout out to comic book readers and started things off with several big bang instances.

I thought Part 2 > Part One.
Overall this has been enjoyable so far. With a story this big it's hard not to have to gloss over some things like how 3 billion people can be moved to another earth, etc... without straining some credibility.
I loved all the different Superman versions in Part 2. Honestly so far Superman has been portrayed the best in every version.

Part 2 was quite interesting, was it not? Splitting the episode between Bats/Supes/Arrow made for a story heavy episode with minor action, but boy when the action came it was SUPER. Kevin Conroy as the grizzled, angry, darker than Knight Batman providing some further depth for Kate making the Bat her own was cool to see. Really enjoying the Kate/Kara World's Finest friendship that has been built up and growing into. Since Ollie and Barry bonded so well it is nice the ladies are having their own bond. When this is all over it would be great to see ALL of the ladies of the Arrowverse sharing a night out on the town.
Seeing Routh once more as Clark/Superman shows just how good his Man of Steel might have been given a better story/movie than we all suffered through. He fills out the blue suit rather nicely and heroically while the interactions between the 2 Clark's showed what was so great about the Christopher Reeve version. Lois traveling through parallel worlds and having the "hots" for many of the different Supermen encountered was humorous. Seeing Durance/Welling's Smallville marriage/bliss/happiness together after all the struggles of growing up shows that the MAN is what's most important in his being SUPER. His interactions with killer Lex were highly entertaining and informative about the depths of the relationship(s) between Lex and Supes on any Earth.
Ollie going for a Lazarus swim makes total sense given the use of the Pit over the past seasons in Arrow, while showing the strength of his family and friends love for him. He is NOT the smug, arrogant rich playboy he once was and shows there is a reason he will be a more important player in eventually stopping the Anti-Monitor.
Where is all this going within context of the ending? We just have to wait and see...

Part 3 runs head long into the heart of Crisis! Just wow is all I can say. Sooooo much occurs this episode for setting up the big 2 hour finale (a whole month away.... ) and it totally delivers the goods. We are shown the final Paragon's along with the intro of Ryan Choi (will he become a new Atom with Routh leaving Legends or a member of team Flash with Cisco leaving), a sort of origin moment for the Monitor, more Kara/Kate bonding, a deal with the devil for more of Ollie rebirth (the man in the green hood becoming an even bigger man in a green hood), the intro of Black Lightning full on in the Arrowverse (and a strong friendship built quickly between lightning themed heroes), seeing the importance of Iris, the finalization of years of anticipation from a newspaper headline, a truly EVIL and sly and conniving and smart Lex Luthor that is perhaps the closest in tone and attitude of the comic character, John Wesley Shipp in full Flash regalia once more, Caitlynn takes control from Killer Frost and Cisco is restored as Vibe along with Supes being taken out of the picture for the big showdown against Anti-Monitor. Damn that was one fully packed giant-sized issue of a comic book story crammed and rolled up into one sensational hour. If you are not finding things to like and squeal in delight during this 5 part event then you really are NOT a comic book fan and are the grumpy old crippled Batman yelling at kids to get the hell out of your Bat-cave. This is NOT the comic book Crisis and yet it shows as much, if not more love and devotion of ALL aspects of comic book goodness, from floppies to cartoons, television and movie versions which encapsulates ALL that is SUPER about being a comic book fan. Damn if there were not plenty of tears shed by me during last nights viewing.

I mean, Arrow, Arrowette, and Batwoman are gonna protect the tower??? With what powers exactly? That's true, but in defense of the show... That holds true of a whole lot of comics too. Details are a bit fuzzy, but I'm sure that at some point the CoiE Anti-Monitor could have been on the receiving end of devastating things like an arrow from Ollie, a kick from Robin, an elbow jab from Batman or even a bite from Ace the bat-hound. Everyone must do their part!

I've just seen a trailer with John Constantine and Lucifer and yes, my inner fanboy went «wheeeee!!!» a little. I just can't stand the way American studios decided to pronounce the former's name. His creator plainly stated that's not how it sounds, way back in the '80s.

I had stopped watched the Arrowverse shows at various points, and the last time I watched a full episode was probably almost exactly 2 years ago. I decided to tune back in for Crisis on Infinite Earths, without watching other episodes to catch up. I've enjoyed it a lot so far - both the regular cast members and the cameos from other Earths. To be sure there are constraints on adapting COIE for network television. No budget could give the comic storyline, it's full due. The action sequences are of varying quality. It doesn't have as big a cast of characters, and sometimes the Arrowverse shows have weak dialogue. But the emotions of the storyline are really played well. And so much thought and work went into integrating DC television shows and movies of various eras.
Despite having multiple Supermen, there are a couple of Superman related series that haven't turned up. I don't recall any Lois & Clark content yet. And there's been nothing of the mostly forgotten, I guess, syndicated Superboy series of the late 80s and early 90s.

So far, its been a low rent affair with silly, quickie solutions to problems (such as the mass evacuation), not a word about long standing character's fates, the Monitor lacking the powerful, fateful delivery and presense of the comic's original, etc.
Conroy as Not-COIE Bruce Wayne was...meh. Too much stunt casting and little impact. That, and he's just killed off by Batwoman, and there's no aftermath? Alternate Luke Fox did not try to do anything about the murder of Bruce?
Black Lighting was completely wasted...jyst there to pad a thin hero roster, but that's how he would have been used on his own series if Berlanti was more than a name slapped on the credits instead of the Akils, the real developers of that series.
Three of the five parts have aired and this has not come within a universe's distance of all that the legendary comic was.
