That doesn't sound like Hulk vs. Superman, it sounds like Golden Age Superman as envisioned by Siegel and Shuster vs. Weisenger era Superman. -M I thought that The Hulk could only leap about an "eighth of a mile" (and yeah, I know that same distance was ascribed to the early Superman as well) though a check online shows that The Hulk has actually leaped into space (where he passed out after complaining about the cold). I could be wrong, but the whole "holding up a mountain" being close to the upper limits of his strength I got from Secret Wars. Even into the late Bronze Age, Superman was still able to push the Earth around ( Superman 322 has him doing so at "three quarters of my full strength" This reminded of a PAD Supergirl story which had a page of, if I remember correctly, somebody who claimed to be the pre-Crisis Supergirl doing a handstand out in the middle of the street or the lawn or something, and somebody asked her what she was up to. She was altering the Earth's orbit, naturally. While I know Superman was supposed to have the power to move planets, I don't recall actually seeing it done, and I haven't seen it since, either. I was curious if it looked as silly as this Supergirl page intentionally was. So I looked up Superman 322, and yes, they showed it as it would look to an eyewitness (I was half-expecting some cheating with perspective, like a red-and-blue streak dashing through space at a zoomed-out Earth), but it wasn't silly-looking. I don't know why Superman decided the bottom of the sea was the best place to perform this feat, though. I suppose if the earth's surface is 3/4 covered by water, chances are he'll end up under the sea if he just picks a random spot, and it's all the same to him.

Today's Hulk would never let that happen. He would literally tear his own arm off and throw it at Sue or beat her with it until she was unconscious (or dead) before he passed out. Yet then again, today's Invisible Woman might just enlarge an invisible bubble inside Hulk's brain and burst his bubble so to say. Ain't comics fun kids?!? Does Hulk even need puny oxygen? Hasn't he been to space, or deep underwater, for long periods?

I'm pretty sure both Doctor Strange and the Silver Surfer have defeated the Hulk, and fairly easily. I believe the Surfer just changed him back to Banner and Strange may have done that, or just put the Hulk to sleep. As far as being able to outslug the Hulk and defeat him in a one on one battle, I'm not sure anyone can do that, though I would think that Thor and pre-crisis Superman should be able to beat him, having basically the Hulk's strength plus other superpowers to call upon. I'm not sure if he ever did but he at least believed that he could:

It was recently pointed out to me that Jack Kirby did the first "Superman vs Hulk" fight under cover of a "transformed Jimmy Olsen" story.
