As I've mentioned before (probaby back on CBR rather than here), Sabra, near-psychotic loathing for bananas is actually a thing, as I discovered via Google a year or so ago after it came up on Baseball Think Factory. It is? I must look into this. Going to Google it! I know nowadays, lots of things people once might have thought of as odd, like hating bananas, is more common than they thought. Wow, that sentence was repetitive. What's CBR? I know it's gotta be a forum and you were once a member, but what's it stand for? CBR=Comic Book Resources -M

In the original topic of this thread: I made wonderful cup of coffee this morning. At least, I think it was wonderful. You'll have to ask the floor. (As people from the Hall know, I am clumsy.)

The best thing I can say about that coffee being served at the auto service center while I'm waiting on my car to be fixed...at least it's free.
My wife and I like to slice up bananas and put them in pancakes. Good stuff.

I am having my usual black Folgers with sugar. It's a cool morning and something hot sounded good.
I use to eat the peanut butter and banana combination before I had traumatic banana eating experience and since have not touched the actual fruit. My mother made them by slicing the banana long ways and spreading peanut butter in between. She called it a banana boat. But the flavor itself I am okay with, hence the banana flavored candy or banana nut bread being good.

And your up to early in the day to have posted this an hour ago AT a mechanic's shop. Maybe your in a different time zone than central. ; -)

"traumatic banana eating experience"? Granted, I would consider any banana eating experience traumatic, but I'm trying to envision what would be traumatic to someone with "normal" views on the matter. Did it attack? Did you try to eat it sideways? Was it infested? I really need to know.

I had an incident involving mayonnaise and don't normally meet peple who also gave had good traumatizing incidents.

Even then, I was a half hour late. I do not do so well in the early AM, especially before the sun has risen. Car is all good to go, though, so that's nice. And cottage cheese on pancakes? I mean, if you're into that sort of thing, I guess.

Just relax, stretch out on the couch and say the first word that pops in your head when I say "mayonnaise".

I had an incident involving mayonnaise and don't normally meet peple who also gave had good traumatizing incidents. Well for starters I have a very sensitive gag reflect. Doctors tongue depressors beware, if you don't want to be sprayed, and dental x-rays take all the strength I have to get through them without the same effect. So I always had to be careful of the "strings" that come with bananas when you peel them, as sometimes they don't go with the peel and stay with the fruit. One particular time, I was ready to leave with my folks to church, eating a banana on my way out the door for breakfast, I had bowel movement that would wait so I had to go before we left. We that insidious fruit intentionally left one of those stringy things on it and as I ate the last bite that thing tripped my gag reflect (cause it felt like hair in my mouth) and I vomited on my pants while I was on the toilet. So no more bananas. As those familiar with my vile eating habits, I top my pancakes with cottage cheese. And your up to early in the day to have posted this an hour ago AT a mechanic's shop. I don't remember if I asked for it, my mother tried an experiment on me, or if like, bananas or apples with peanut butter, it was something she ate as a child and passed it on. In either case, it is a combination that's stuck with me through adulthood. Dan's shy to admit it, but he's the epitome of tolerance, so I feel confident to confide some of my rather strange personality traits.

So no more bananas. Thank you for that, I'm sure it wasn't easy reliving it. It's just more proof that bananas are evil and they are out to get you. Is slipping on a banana peel really an accident? No, the banana is trying to kill you.
