Editorial oversight isn't always up to snuff in comics, resulting in some bloopers and blunders. Here are two doozies: We're not going to mention three-toed Hulk? I suspect that was Stan and Jack attempting to give the Hulk a more alien quality to him by having differently numbered body parts, but I guess it didn’t work out.

Hey, in 1989's The Trial of the Incredible Hulk, a bearded David Banner changes into a beardless Hulk (three times!). If the metamorphosis causes a bearded Banner to change into a beardless Hulk, then I guess the logical suspension of disbelief is to accept Banner's five toes become the Hulk's three toes!

Jack Kirby accidentally drew Reed Richards with two left hands in Fantastic Four #88. Always wondered why Sinnott didn't correct it in the inking stage. And I guess Stan or production didn't notice it (and have M. Severin or Romita Sr., both of whom did a lot of art corrections back then, redo the hand). Or maybe it was decided not to mess with it, as it's certainly a most impressive piece of art!

Avengers #36: At that time Hawkeye often called Cap "Winghead", but here he refers to Cap as "Web-Head" (Spidey's nickname). Then in Avengers #38, it's Pietro who's speaking but Cap addresses Wanda. Both bloopers were mentioned by readers in subsequent letter columns. Roy Thomas had just taken over the Avengers writing duties from Stan.

From Fantastic Four #18. This makes the dynamics of the FF much more interesting if you assume it's a colorist error.

Some of these seem like they must be photoshopped, they're so blatant. Hilarious.

Maybe Stan Lee should’ve hired himself a good editor

And let's not overlook this bit of Zenn-Lavian logic, from Fantastic Four #61

Because of this I grew up with the wrong interpretation of that phrase (it was the first time I'd heard it).

More likely that it was Wolfman - I recall reading somewhere (probably on Jim Shooter's blog) that he also once misused the word noisome, i.e., he thought it was a synonym for noisy or something similar.
