These are fun. But we should rename the thread "Favorite Cover from the Best Artists."

These are fun. But we should rename the thread "Favorite Cover from the Best Artists." unless you have some sort of objective standard (or rubric) that everyone agrees to, any discussion of "best" will inevitably be a discussion of favorites as each person will us their personal criteria to determine what is "best" and getting any two (let alone an entire group) to agree what the criteria should be is nigh impossible. So just enjoy all the great covers being showcased. -M

Looking for a great Ditko cover from the 50s of a man standing in front of a futuristic city. Can't remember if it was Strange Worlds or Space Adventures or something else. No luck with Google so far.

YES Electro! Thanks so much.
And now that you found it I looked at ToS and found this wonderful very early John Buscema cover.

Disney comic art tends to be most associated with Carl Barks, though I quite liked the art from these artists as well: Tony Strobl: Frank McSavage: Larry Mayer:

The Batman cover is spoiled for me by Robin taking up too much of the foreground. Actually, Batman doesn't look that great either, looking at it again. I only really like Ras-al-Ghul and Talia. Nice stipple effect (or whatever it's called) on the background too.

Nice stipple effect (or whatever it's called) on the background too. Really? A supposedly dead Robin being the emphasis sells not only Batman's reaction, but the spectre of Ra's alGhul in the "air" behind them. I think if the cover had a layout of Batman carrying Robin's body (for one example of a cover layout), it would have lost the impact of Batman's fall-to-the-knees anguish/rage.
