We used to get bags of peanuts in the shell for a treat, we had plain tea biscuits around much more often than cookies, and any creme center biscuits were the first gone from the Peak Freen's assorted. Commercial jams came in tins when I was little with a plastic top you used after opening. Now they all seem to be in smaller glass jars like only marmalade came in.

Which One shall it be this week? Are you a bath or a shower person? While during the hot summer a quick refreshing cold shower can hit the spot for me, I much more prefer the spring/fall/winter nice looooooong warm soak in the tub. It is quite easy to see how the ancient Roman's went for the giant heated bath HOUSE. Now while I can't say doing a public bath would be ideal, the combination of steam with a warm bath does wonders for easing the body's aches and pains, opening up the sinus and soothing the mind from all the thoughts and distractions of a busy/hectic day of work. There are a few combinations where the bath alongside some accouterments is a splendid way for ending or beginning your day.
Dim the lights, fire up some scented candles, add in the soap bubbles with the right music and instant romance for you and your loved one. Pour yourself a favorite drink, drop in the oldie's CD's (or radio station if you are old school) and take a novel or comic book into the tub and relax awhile. Adding in bath fizzies or scented bath crystals for those aching joints is a wonderful weekend morning way to relax both mind and body. Shoot, share your bath and take the house pet dog or cat along for a swim with you. Truth: I once had a cat who would actually sit on the rim of the tub when I took a bath and would dangle a paw in and splash the water with the occasional tumble in if she wasn't careful. Also long ago I had a Boston Terrier mix and she would prance around outside the bath whenever I had a soak and she would whine until I brought her in and she would initially splash and paddle a bit until calming down from the warmth of the bath.
My dad worked 6 days a week and Sunday, during winter on his only day off he followed a ritual EVERY time causing havoc in the house when you only have 1 bathroom and 4 others in the house. He would get up and fill a thermos of coffee and fill the tub with hot water and soak ALL MORNING long. After finishing the coffee he would then unfold the Sunday paper on the toilet beside the tub and proceed to read the ENTIRE thing before getting out of the tub. He would be in there for 3-4 hours Sunday morning using up the hot water with multiple tub refills and us boys doing the pee pee dance.
So it must be genetically passed on from father to son as to why I enjoy my warm tub soaks but all I can say is that after a long and tiring day of work it can truly be such a delight getting away from the world and enjoying some quality time doing absolutely nothing! Hows about you all?!?

Hot bath.
Showers are certainly more practical, and faster, but there's nothing like a good full-body soak in hot water. Haven't had one in years, though: our current, very small, house, with a similarly small bathroom, has a walk-in shower - no tub.

Shower, no question. I have zero interest in marinating in gallons of water infused with the dirt and oils from my own body.
Get in, get clean, get going. Any shower that takes me more than about 6 minutes is too long (and they only last close to that long when I have to shave my head, and only if I've gone more than 4 days since the last shave).

Are you a bath or a shower person? Is it cheating if I take a sit down shower in the bathtub?

Shower 99% of the time, but I do enjoy a good hot soak when I'm sore or have thrown my back out or something.

Shower. I haven't taken a bath in probably 45 years.

Shower. A bath wastes too much water.

Shower. I get bored in the bath. Maybe I need to try all those accessories.

I plan on selling the HondoCondo in a year or two and going to a ranch style single level something, and part of the plan is getting a Jacuzzi.
For now I vote shower because my tub isn't big enough and is awkward to get out of, but later, on the weekends, I'm a soaker.
Some nice jazz and just lay back and forget about everything until I'm just shy of being asleep.

Shower. I like to get in and out fast; I've no desire to lounge for hours in a bath.
