Tyrone has power, but Errol is in like Flynn.
Yes, that's a dad joke.

Today's new Which One: Schwarzenneger or Stallone action movies? Both had BIG movie careers during the 80's and their movies were big money makers drawing in fans by the boatload. Both wanted to be more than "action stars" dipping their toes into comedy and drama along the way but it was their bulging muscles and explosive action movies we all wanted to see. Arnie gave us the iconic with 2 Conan movies, the Terminator and Predator while also doing Red Sonja, Commando, Raw Deal, The Running Man, Red Heat, Total Recall, Last Action Hero, True Lies and Eraser before turning into the Governator and eventually returning with a few more good if not great actioner's like The Last Stand, Expendables 1 and 2, Escape Plan and Sabotage. Stallone delivered thrills with a lot his own iconic creations like Rocky Balboa and John Rambo along with Nighthawks, Escape to Victory, Cobra, Tango and Cash, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man, Judge Dredd, Get Carter, The Expendables series, Bullet to the Head and Escape Plan. No debating neither is movies greatest thespian's but boy did they deliver excitement, one-liners, gunfire, explosions along with thrills, chills, fun and laughs for us.
I have to give my vote for Stallone. As he is the more versatile (don't laugh) one here. He delivered stunning action movies with plenty of differences within his limited acting skills. Lots of variety in entertaining us with variations and he actually wrote many of his movies or had a hand in developing and producing them. He was more than willing to take the punches (pun intended) for all of his roles and even laugh at himself at times. And unlike 'Ahnuld" who has limited success outside of the "Action" genre, Stallone always managed to find other roles like Copland, Grudge Match, Creed and an interesting cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Who do you choose?!?

I also choose Stallone. Why?
Partly because Arnie could never pull off a film like "The Lords of Flatbush", and partly because Schwarzenneger is too hard to spell..

Not a huge fan of either, but of the movies I do like featuring either (which are only a handful of each), I like the Arnie movies more, so I'll give him the nod.
And even the stuff I don't like by Arnie gives us such unintentionally hilarious lines like..."You Shouldn't Drink and Bake..."

I loathe action movies. Wooding acting, idiotic scripts, ridiculous feats of strength/endurance, car chases, and explosions are not what I watch films for. That's why I dislike most comic book movies, actually; most of them are made for action movie fans, as far as I can see.
That said, I really liked Stallone a lot in the Rocky movies (especially the first two), so at a push I'll go with him. But not when he's in Rambo-eqsue action films. Yech!

Tough one, but I'll go with Stallone.
I would say his films left more of a lasting impression on me. I could tell you the plot of First Blood, talk about the dialogue, cover the more deeper scenes, etc. Could I do the same for Red Heat? I'm not so sure.
Stallone was more versatile within what can be a limited genre.
Wrestling fans will get what I mean: if Arnie was the "Ultimate Warrior" of the action movie world, then Stallone was "Hulk Hogan".

Schwarzenegger by a long shot. Generally, I can't stand Stallone in action movies, at least not the ones from his heyday in the 1980s. And the only Rocky movie I like is the first one. By the way, I have to recommend a podcast dedicated Schwarzenegger's cinematic oeuvre, Podcasta La Vista, Baby. It's great fun.

Schwarzenegger by quite a bit. Stallone's best films are better than Schwarzenegger's. But Stallone couldn't elevate bad films the way Ah-Nuld did. Rocky or Creed are leagues better than anything Schwarzenegger ever did. But Terminator, Predator, Total Recall, etc. are simply fun and era-defining films.

Schwarzenegger : "whah don't yoo send in da wegoolah ahmy?"
Stallone: "Weahdshaoohsmok, wehise... wehahhahostsdahhiidanigh".
Since the question restricts itself to action movies, I'll go with Arnold. Although he doesn't have the range of Stallone as a Thespian (don't laugh, now!), his action films go from pretty good serious stuff to pretty good comedy. I am hard pressed to think of a Stallone comedy that was actually funny, once we go past the core concept of the Expendable series. Schwarzenegger also has that "big uncle you can count on" vibe that makes an Action film character likeable; Stallone's characters rarely come across as all that friendly.
If we were talking about all their movies, Stallone would win easily just for Rocky (the first one), which was brilliant. First Blood was also pretty good.

Today's new Which One: Schwarzenneger or Stallone action movies? Schwarzenneger starred in my one of my favorite films of all time that has since garnered an appreciation as time went on; Last Action Hero. So I probably have to give it to him Did like Stallone in Cobra from what little I've seen of it

Pretty much what Slam-Bradley and Roquefort Raider said. Stallone slightly wider range, and his best movis better than Scharzenegger's best, but I like Scharzenegger more. I like them both, though.

Schwarzenneger by a billion to one. He was the undisputed box office king for the 80's and he looked like an action hero. The only movie I thought Stallone was good in was First Blood ( the original one).
