Schwarzenneger by a mile. Stallone had some better "films" but I don't watch either of those guys for "films." I want to see shit blowed up real good, and particularly in the 80s/90s heyday, they were made better. I am not calling them high art, but they had more fun, heart and charm.
Arnold had a certain likeable charisma that just made him fun to watch despite not being "an ACTor" per se. He also had some iconic and fun movies. Terminator and T2 were not only genre-defining, but they played well to his strengths and minimized his limitations. Running Man was fun, Predator and Total Recall as well. He just embodied the action star persona perfectly and picked movies that suited him well. He wasn't terribly versatile, but he found ways to branch out a little within his genre with stuff like True Lies and Last Action Hero. Insert some comedy and satire.
I like Stallone, too, don't get me wrong, and Demolition Man is as good an over-the-top action romp as most any of Arnold's. I just like Arnold's persona and classic movies more. Since Arnold came back to movies, Stallone has made better movies by miles, though both have their share of stinkers.

Fun factoid: one of the scenes in Demolition Man was filmed at the office building where I worked at the time. Found it! In the movie it says this is taking place on Santa Monica Blvd in the middle of LA, but it's actually the Koll Center office complex (edit - now known as Irvine Concourse) in Irvine, about a mile from John Wayne Airport in Orange County. You can see my office building most clearly at the point in the video where Wesley Snipes throws a cop out of a car.

A new week so a new Which One: we ask the question Which Television hero Jimmy for you? James T. Kirk or James T. West?Name Coincedence or not? The Captain (no, not our The Captain, the other one) of the USS Enterprise, the heroic troublesome interpret the prime directive in his own way as he flirts his way across the galaxies while stirring up diplomatic issues with Klingon's, Romulan's and any other race which dares to defy the Kirk of the spaceways! Or do you choose the James Bond of the West on horseback who is dashing, debonair, smartly dressed tight panted heel lifted doesn't have to chase the ladies as they usually chase him Mr. West?
Both are cliche's now of what was considered in the past to be heroic womanizing macho ideal's which today they are borderline sexual predators and would be facing the court with sexual harassment and be on Jerry Springer doing paternity tests filling a whole weeks time slot . But dang it, in the day they were quite a handsome pair of heroes entertaining us on the television screen.
While Jimmy Kirk got to play the Galaxy for a much longer career span, I have to give my vote for Jimmy West the Secret Service man. He was just so much more cooler and confident, even when Artemus was saving his hammy bacon ass. You knew James West was going to get the job done with lots of style and finesse and lets face it, he did a better double legged drop kick to the villains! Jimmy Kirk flew by the seat of his pants and again, West had the better tailored bottom. While Kirk would get into plenty of fist fights and come out the intergalactic champion, you never really believed in his fisticuff's being all that tough. James West knew how to brawl with the best of them (thanks to aptly named stuntman Robert Gene "Red" West help) using his fists combined with martial arts training and six guns to routinely defeat 4 or more opponents every episode when not seducing those beautiful villainous temptresses he met. And you have admit West had a way with lines: when once asked in an episode "What do you demand of a Woman, intelligence or beauty?", James quickly replied: Beauty if they are intelligent and intelligence if they're beautiful. Artemus asks West which young lady he would like to take to dinner out of a pair, West replies That one. Artemus again asks Why that one? West says Why not that one Artie? Artemus replies Good, I didn't think you had a reason. Another time Artemus says to West after a big explosion: You don't look very dead. West responds I'm not even sick.
Your choice is?

It's kind of funny this one came up. As I was flipping through channels last night (something I almost never do) I hit an episode of The Wild Wild West just starting. Not only did it have both Sammy Davis, Jr. and Peter Lawford in it, but it was directed by Richard Donner.
Both these shows were appointment after-school TV in syndication if they were available. But ultimately I like James West more as a character. It's not genre. I love both SF and westerns (you can argue that Star Trek is just a western transported to space). Kirk had more supporting cast, West had to play off Artemis Gordon and whatever guest stars were available. What it comes down too is that West was just cooler than Kirk.

I never watched Wild Wild West, so I'll have to go with Kirk. I watched the 90's reboot film with Will Smith, even as a small child I knew it was completely devoid of anything resembling substance
I was more into Jack Of All Trades, which has what I imagine is a similar feel to the original Wild Wild West
But yeah, I'll have to go with Kirk

During recess in third grade, while playing at Star Trek, your humble servant (James Kirk) lost a milk tooth when a space monster (big Donald L.) punched him in the face.
Although no shirt was torn and I didn't have a new girlfriend every week, I've been in Kirk's shoes just long enough to choose him!
