I liked the Gil Kane '80s redesign on Brainiac. I always thought Ultron coming back yet again seemed more monotonous than with other baddies... he seemed to have come back seven or eight times by the late '90s Avengers. I would say it, the '70s Perez with Jocasta one and the John Buscema '60s ones (with the Ozymandias poem epilogue) were the classics. I vaguely remember a Barry Smith appearance but maybe the story wasn't memorable at all. * Having had enough Ultron I'd most like to see more of the Kane style Brainiac, so that would be my vote. * I'm really giving writers short shrift here. I categorize by the main artist in my brain's filing system. Apologies to Marv Wolfman, Roy Thomas, Jim Shooter and Kurt Busiek.

Brainiac. Yadda, yadda DC-guy here, yadda yadda. I'll always think of him as the Robot version: Which is indeed terrifying. And while I feel like a broken record in here, his appearance in the Super Powers toy line informed the way I see him when someone says close your eyes and picture Brainiac: For what it's worth too, I think the recent show Krypton nailed the Coluan look: I have a very limited exposure to Ultron as a character as I can likely count on one hand the number of stories I've read with him.

I've already answered, but part of it is that my first exposure to Braniac was Challenge of the Super-Friends... where he was a toothless dolt of a villain, a cackling Luthor wannabe in visual design, and came across as more of a disposable minion than any kind of real threat. It's colored my perception of him as a villain ever since. First impressions and all. The robot version certainly is an improvement of visual design, and is slightly more menacing, but I've still never encountered a story where I felt the protagonists were truly threatened by Braniac in any form. -M

Ultron is a very monotonous villain, plus he is inextricably linked to Hank Pym; a character I don't like. But Brainiac has pet space monkey! How could any comic book fan go past that?

Here's the first (sorta creepy) Brainiac, from "The Boy Who Killed Superman," in Jimmy Olsen 28 (April, 1958):

Here's the first (sorta creepy) Brainiac, from "The Boy Who Killed Superman," in Jimmy Olsen 28 (April, 1958): Shades of Magnus Robot-Fighter, never seen that Braniac before! Braniac must be superior because the term of calling someone 'a braniac' is now in the common vernacular, whereas nobody calls anyone else an Ultron. There was a brief time after a certain Six Million Dollar Man episode where I remember kids calling others Fembots though. Mary Tyler-Fembot sez... "Brainiac Bachelor Number 3, if you were down to your last can of WD-40 and I started to squeak..."

I liked the Gil Kane '80s redesign on Brainiac. That's Brainiac? So I assume this image I just found on the web must be someone's redesign of Ultron:

I like Brainiac, but I have to go with Ultron. So many great Avengers stories with Ultron!

Which One is it gonna be today? Judge Dredd or Judge Judy? Who lays down the law better for you?
Dredd may be tough but I gotta give props for Judge Judy being the stronger of the two. She does NOT take any guff from those stupid enough for trying her patience in the courtroom. Give the woman a Lawgiver pistol and you better not cross her path or risk her wrath! Stupidity is not tolerated nor are pitiful excuses allowed. She will kick your keister without hesitation!

Judge Judy is a menace. Judicial “reality” shows are, in general, horrible. But she’s the worst of a bad lot.

(I have no desire to see one, they are just one of those kinds of shows that I avoid like the plague) It gives a ridiculously unrealistic view of the Court system, the way it works and the way it’s conducted. Judy is particularly egregious with her yelling at parties, general denigration of people involved and histrionics. Judge Dredd at least doesn’t pretend to not be fiction.

Not sure if it's true, but I thought I read that Judge Judy and all that is scripted and fake anyway. They know the outcome before they go on and act it out. Don't really know for sure. Don't really care, either.
