Too hard? Ok, that one was "Banditos" by mid-90s rock band The Refreshments.
Next one should be easier:
I'm only a man in a silly red sheet Digging for kryptonite on this one way street Only a man in a funny red sheet Looking for special things inside of me

It's Five for Fighting's Superman. Hadn't heard that in a while. Here's another one:
Mild mannered supermen are held in kryptonite,
And the wise and foolish virgins giggle with their bodies glowing bright.

OK, next one: He's faster than a bullet, stronger than a train He's the one who got lucky, Got his cape around Miss Lois Lane I can't believe my dilemma is real I'm competing with the man of steel

Carpet Crawlers is a great track and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway in its entirety is a masterpiece, a classic (in the best sense of the term) 70s "concept album".

It's the Spin Doctors and Jimmy Olsen BLues interesting how so many of these are Superman references. So let's try a different hero reference.... Hold it now and watch the hoodwink As I make you stop, think You'll think you're looking at Aquaman I summon fish to the dish, Although I like the Chalet Swiss I like the sushi Cause it's never touched a frying pan-M

The English translation is pretty loose. The original German version says: 99 Düsenflieger Jeder war ein großer Krieger Hielten sich für Captain Kirk Es gab ein großes Feuerwerk Which translates literally as: Ninety-nine jet fighters Each was a great warrior Regarded themselves as Captain Kirk There was a great display of fireworksSo, no "superhero" mentioned in the German edition.

Neunundneunzig Düsenflieger Jeder war ein großer Krieger Hielten sich für Captain Kirk Das gab ein großes Feuerwerk Ironically, the Dutch Army nearly blew up Nena, when they shot the video.
