I face-palmed myself after ignoring Black Panther #1 for years when it was cheap, and now I'm using the other hand for She-Hulk #1 because I never cared for it and now it's looking at me saying ha ha ha.....
Sigh....

While I don't begrudge anyone making money on books due to TV/movies, it bugs me that rather than raising the status of comics, it really reinforces them as second-class. That is, the value is totally disconnected from whether a specific issue is written or drawn well, and only due to an "appearance." And that appearance is only valuable because of what's happening outside of comics. It's like someone in 1982 saying, "Did you see that Marvel's coming out with an adaptation of Blade Runner? I better buy the VHS before the prices go up!" But comic values have always been based on arbitrary demand factors and not on the quality of art and story. First appearances, first crappy job by an artist who later becomes good, guest appearance, issue number on the cover, etc. have always driven values, not quality of art and story. What drives the demand has shifted as the market evolves, but it has never been driven by the actual quality of the comic in question. -M

Not so much these days , except for maybe Dave Stevens.

Anyone know why Captain Britain #1 (Marvel UK mag) is suddenly commanding multiple hundreds of dollars? I have two copies I got for a dollar a piece, and I have no idea if I should be selling or holding on with a firm clutch.

OK, I'm starting the internet rumor right here and now that U.S. 1 is getting its own MCU feature film, starring David Spade as Ulysses Solomon Archer. No information yet as to who will play the roles of Taryn O'Connell, Poppa Wheelie, Wide-Load Annie or Baron von Blimp. I'm claiming the same "undisclosed sources" that the mainstream media always uses for driving unverified stories. To spice it up a little more, there is speculation that NFL Superpro will make a cameo appearance in advance of his own feature film. Remember, when US 1 issue #1 goes to $500 in raw condition, you heard it from me first...

What you need is someone to go through all the Kevin Feige footage there is and splice together a clip that says Phase 5 US 1... you'll be reaping your ebay rewards overnight if that surfaces... -M
