Tough one! Nine are no-brainers:
Atom #4 ($.12) Fantastic Four #10 ($.12) Flash #133 ($.12) Green Lantern #17 ($.12) Journey into Mystery #87* ($.12) Justice League of America #16 ($.12) Popeye #67 ($.12) Strange Tales #104 ($.12) Tales to Astonish #39 ($.12)
but I can't decide between The Creature #1, The Jetsons #1, Tarzan #133, and Two-Gun Kid #61. Time to turn in some old bottles for the deposit!
Cei-U! Kid Me woulds gone for The Creature!
* The third Marvel comic I ever read
Did they even have deposits back then? BACK THEN?! Get off my lawn, punk! They had them for quite a while after that, too, you whippersnapper!

Did they even have deposits back then? Oh yeah. We used to hunt glass soda bottles for the deposit.

Okay, so for October 1962 here's what I'll spend my $1.20 allowance on: Black Cat #64, Harvey. Love this character. 25 cents Justice League of America #16, DC. Can't resist all those costumed characters. 12 cents Superboy #101, DC. I'll buy any comic with Lana on the cover. 12 cents Jimmy Olsen #65, DC. I'll buy any comic with Lucy Lane on the cover. 12 cents Unknown Worlds #20, ACG. Intriguing cover. 12 cents Fantastic Four #10, Marvel. Looks interesting, with that big snarling guy on the right and those two non-costumed guys at the bottom. I'll take a chance and spend 12 cents on this. Casper's Ghostland #16, Harvey. Always loved those Harvey Giants, the Harvey shared universe, and Halloween. This is a must-buy! 25 cents 50 cents for the two giant-sized Harveys and 60 cents for the 5 regular comics leaves me with 10 cents for candy.

Adventure #304 - "Death" of Lightning Lad in the Legion feature. Batman Annual #4 - Love those glorious giant reprint issues. Detective #311 - First Catman! Fantastic Four #11 Green Lantern #18 - Love any Sinestro appearance Strange Tales #105 Giant Superman Annual #6 - similar comment as above with Batman
The annuals quickly consumed a lot of my allowance, but totally worth it to me. A shiny dime left for candy (oh wait, I got a Mercury dime back in change, might put it in my coin book instead).

November 1962Combat #7 (Dell): Nice action-filled cover. Detective 311: Giant cat-robot? Of course! Adventure 304: The Legion and Superman beating on Superboy? Oh, sure! Our Army at War 126: The cover is a stunner, and I know the interior at will be, too, even if am just eight years old. My Greatest Adventure 75: How can one resist as pithy a title as "I Was the Hunted Man-Bird of Mystery Mesa"? I'll give it a try. Tomahawk 84: This is the way to get your history lesson! Four more to go. Hmmm... Our Fighting Forces #73: Another great cover! Superman #158: Ghostly Superman is scary. I'm on board. Oh, wait! Almost missed Superman Annual #6! Gotta have it! I must have an extra penny somewhere. (Unfortunately, no store kept a little tray full of pennies near the checkout counter back then!) Let me dig in to my pocket. No! Damn! have to put one back if I'm gonna buy that annual. Okay, I'll have to try Combat another time, I guess. Final line-up: Detective 311 Adventure 304 Our Army at War 126 My Greatest Adventure 75 Tomahawk 84 Our Fighting Forces #73 Superman #158 Superman Annual #6
