Once again, all my money goes to either Marvel titles or Julius Schwartz-edited DC books. To wit:
Amazing Spider-Man #38 Atom #25
Avengers #29 Batman #181
Daredevil #17 Fantastic Four #52 Flash #162 Green Lantern #45 Hawkman #14
Justice League of America #45 Sgt. Fury #31 Strange Tales #146 Tales of Suspense #79 Tales to Astonish #81 Thor #129 X-Men #21
...all at 12 cents each, leaving 8 cents which, combined with the 4 cents remaining from last month, gives me just enough to buy
Detective Comics #362
Pardon me while I shed a tear over not being able to afford Brave and the Bold #66, Doom Patrol #104, and/or Thunder Agents #5.
Cei-U! I summon the hankie!

Amazing Spider-Man #38 Avengers #29 Daredevil #17 (Spider-Man guest stars, though this story was kinda dumb if I remember correctly) Fantastic Four #52 (another Lee/Kirby classic) Tales of Suspense #79 (Iron Man vs. Namor! 'nuff said!) Thor #129 (Hercules guest stars!) X-Men #21 Adventure Comics #345 (Legion of Super-Heroes!) Brave and the Bold #66 Challengers of the Unknown #50 Detective Comics #352 Doom Patrol #104 Flash #162 Justice League of America #45 Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #93 And I'll go out of left field (for me) with my last choice...Adventures of Bob Hope #99. I've never picked up a copy, either for real or in this game, but what the heck, I need some humor so I'll give it a shot. So I have to leave out Strange Tales #146, Tales of Suspense #79, Atom #25, and several other goodies. Not to mention the non Big Two stuff out there.

That is a tough choice there, with a Metamorpho/Metal Men team-up and Elasti-Girl marrying Mento in the mix, but hey, Detective Comics has an Elongated Man backup, so you can't go wrong there!

Anybody else find it funny the way the used to stick a pipe in a guy's mouth when they wanted him to look sophisticated? Cartooning shorthand, like glasses on a smart girl.

I smoked a pipe regularly for years (only on rare occasions now), and I never experienced an increase in my sophistication. I must have missed out on that particular benefit trope! These days, I rarely smoke, though I still have over 80 different pipes, and a chest full of various tobacco blends. About the only time I light up now is outdoors on occasional nice Summer evenings and Autumn days.

My father used to occasionally smoke a pipe (when he was in a sophisticated mood?) and occasionally a cigar (when he was in a Kirby mood?) but his second wife made him quit. I never noticed him being particularly sophisticated either, though.

Except in the Marvel Universe! You put glasses on a beautiful woman so everybody thinks she’s EVIL! I’m thinking of Irma Kruhl! You can tell she’s EVIL because of her glasses!
