The Venture Bros. special "All This and Gargantua-2" was glorious! I love how they were able to include so many of the characters without it feeling like they shoehorned them all in. Jonas Jr's sacrifice at the end was actually kind of touching. Interesting new status quo to start the new season. I think I'll have to watch it again just so I don't miss anything. Be sure to watch the Special Epilogue if you haven't already. It also includes a season 6 teaser. I felt like I was watching a finale, but I enjoyed the special more than anything from last season. The Crash Test Dummies killed me. I'm rewatching from the beginning now, and good lord this show holds up so well.

I had watched them before, but my wife finally saw the first two episodes of Agent Carter yesterday. She wasn't sure if she would like it at first, but 15 minutes in, she was talking about how much she was loving it.
I have an awesome wife.

I finally got around to watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (just the first 2 episodes). Apparently Disney is not going to release it on DVD over here, but luckily it's on the free digital TV that comes with my father's cable subscription, so I watch a few episodes whenever I'm around. The first 2 episodes have been not been spectacular, but I heard that the series rapidly improves towards the end of the first season.
Also been rewatching Jonathan Creek, a series which I always enjoyed a lot and as there were some new episodes last year, I decided to rewatch the series from the beginning. Funny to see so many famous comedians and actors including several people playing against their usual character (Adrian Edmonson and Rik Mayall foremost).

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. definitely gets better later in the season. They had to tread water until the release of the second Captain America movie, but once that came out, the show got to deal with the aftermath of the movie events and the quality of the show rose greatly.

I found an article that pointed out the must watch episodes so I'm doing that. At episode 14 (or close to it) that's when it said it gets good. It's been okay so far although I hate being strung along with stuff I don't really care about. The Coulson stuff is weird and I honestly don't really care about what occurred with him after Avengers. It was odd that he had to be involved in the show. They could have easily done a SHIELD show without him.

My son has been wearing me down to watch more Walking Dead with him, so I watched a few episodes last night up to the end of season one. I had this weekend started with episode one season one and am going to try it from the beginning. I still stand by my observation (from when a watched a few out of context episodes in season two earlier) that is seems the worst of characters keep on surviving and the ones that could evolve into much more interesting characters don't. The season finale confirmed that observation. However, the life and death spoilers I do know give me confidence that soon it could be good. Or at least better than it is now.

Does any one else watch QI? They keep delaying the XL editions: it makes me sad.

The previous one was probably delayed due to the snooker (though they could have easily broadcast it this time, because that match was quick). I've missed the XL this week, don't know if there was something else planned.
I love QI, though it's really weird to compare Alan Davies in Jonathan Creek and in QI.
If you like QI, do you also follow the Unbelievable Truth? Both programs seem to be on one line.

Love QI - been watching it since about the 2nd series, and it's on heavy rotation on the satellite channels over here - there's rarely any evening when there's not a couple of episodes available.
Not wildly keen on the Unbelievable Truth, but I've not seen it, only heard the Radio4 version. The big problem with the show is that most of the guests signpost the correct answers - if you listen carefully, there's generally a little pause after most of the correct answers where the contestent is waiting to get jumped on.

John Stewart announced he is retiring from the Daily Show after 16 years as host. His last show will be later this year. It will be a great loss as his voice was often the only voice of sanity in a maelstrom of static chaos and shouted talking points. I know my wife will be bitterly disappointed as Daily Show is must watch TV for her.
