While not being broadcast by them, one of our main channels has I-Zombie available on their streaming app, my wife and I both enjoy it a lot. Penny Dreadful anyone

Daredevil kept the quality right to the end of the series, with some nasty twists for people familiar* with the comics. The only jarring note was the DD costume, which didn't arrive until the last episode, and whem it did... it was awful. Really, really ludicrously incongrously awful.
(* ie, obsessive collector types who know everything that's happened in the comcics for about 30 years. So, us, basically)

I started watching Firefly for the first time on Netflix. The show had just never intrigued me enough to get me to give it a try. After eight episodes, though, I can vouch that this cartoon is perfectly accurate!!!

After eight episodes, though, I can vouch that this cartoon is perfectly accurate!!! That sums it up pretty well. It's funny, I actually never finished watching the show. I've seen most of it and the movie, but I know once I watch the rest of the episodes there is never any more Firefly for me to look forward to. If I don't finish it, there's always some still out there... Sigh. This show came out 5 years too soon.

I started watching Firefly for the first time on Netflix. The show had just never intrigued me enough to get me to give it a try. After eight episodes, though, I can vouch that this cartoon is perfectly accurate!!! Yeah there's totally waaaay too much hype on this show. It is a good show, but not even near what it's made to be. And if you are watching it for the first time now (I probably did 5 years ago or so) if you've heard the Wheadonist's propaganda, then no nothing is going to hold up to all that. Personally, I think a few characters held up the series far more than others. So while I have a few favorite episodes, I haven't watched it again since. And, again my opinion, if Serenity was what his ideas were for the show had it been able to continue, I am so thankfully it ended when it did. Edit: As far as TV myself, I finally finished Season 4 (the last season on Netflix instant) of Bob's Burgers. A series that I really had to commit to in at least the whole first season. It had it's moments, but H. Jon Benjamin, who I remembered as Coach McGuirk from Home Movies, was really who kept me watching it. Somewhere in Season 2, not real specific moment, it started to get better. By season 3 and 4 I was enjoying watching it. New and old characters were really standing out, and it didn't seem as much as another of Fox's attempt to air a animated comedy, as it did a good show that holds up on it's own. It's in my top 5 animated comedy series now. Both season 5 & 6 are on Netflix DVD with "availability unknown", so not sure when I might get to see the rest unless I find another source.

Bob's Burgers is definitely a show that started out weak and slowly built up steam.

Agree about Firefly. The western-style clothing and speech patterns didn't work that well for me, but apart from that quibble I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish it had been allowed to finish its story at its own pace. HBO or somebody should ask Whedon to create a new show for them. And David Lynch!
Been trying out the new Space Channel series, Dark Matter, which is based on a comic I haven't read. So far it feels like a pretty standard genre series but still, worth a look for SF fans, I would say. Nothing truly exceptional, but competently done. I have the other new show that started a few weeks ago, Killjoys, recorded, but haven't watched any episodes yet.
Anyone seen Salem? They keep advertising it during Dark Matter.

Just finished watching Jonathan Strange And Mr Norrell and was really impressed by the production value. I'm not big into fantasy and magic but I absolutely loved this. There are some exceptional performances throughout especially the leads Bertie Carvel and Eddie Marsan as the title characters. Marc Warren also gives an excellent and creepy performance as The Gentleman. I really hope we get more.

Late to the party but I binge watched season 4 of Arrested Development over the past few days and for the most part enjoyed it. I really liked how each episode mainly focused on each character and how interconnected it was. There are some really cool cameos throughout the season as well.

So my wife and I just finished season 1 of Netflix Original Series Sense8. It is somewhat relevant to us on a comics board as it's co-created by J. Michael Strazynski and the Wachowskis. For the most part it was really interesting, but in typical Wachowski fashion, the pacing was slow and bloated at times. They like to revel in a concept or emotion and bask in its perceived greatness sometimes at the expense of getting to the point and moving the story along, but aside from needing some trimming, it was really good.

I saw this, and I am unbelievably stoked about this show. I wonder if it is set after Evil Dead or if it follows the full chronology through Army of Darkness?
