For those interested, we are going to do a wake/memorial service for Bruce over zoom this Sunday, January 9th, at 1:30pm Eastern Standard Time. This is not sanctioned by any member of Bruce's family, nor is it religious in nature -- it's just a way for us to mourn his passing and celebrate his legacy. Icctrombone and tartanphantom will be hosting, as they were Bruce's closest friends here. Everyone is encouraged to bring 1. a Western or Wrestling related artifact to show off in celebration of the genres Bruce loved so much 2. a drink of your choice so that we can toast our comrade's passing into the great beyond. You'll also be invited to share a few words about Bruce. Whether you knew him well or just wish you did, you are very welcome. Whoever you are, Bruce would have been happy to see you there, as that's just the kind of guy he was. EDIT: The link can be found here |

Don't worry... I've got the non-attendees covered in the glass-raising department... and that's only half of the scotch cache.  If things get really jiggy, I'll break out the absinthe selection.

The 2nd bottle from the right on the floor (with the green cellophane on it) is an unopened bottle of 10yr. old Port Ellen 1984-- the last year of the distillery's operation.
If I sold it, I could buy five Youngblood #2's in CGC 9.8.

Every year I say I'm going to drink more--I just don;t have the will power to start.
That's only partly a joke--I have a bar and have been collecting barware for a few years now, but, apart from beer or wine w/ dinner, don't drink a lot and seldom spirits, mainly because two of my closest friends don;t drink so it's not something we do.

Sorry about that. Early afternoon EST tends to work well since someone as much as seven hours ahead or six hours behind can still take part, but I guess I couldn't make it work for everyone. |
