Day Twenty-Five ChoicesAs I made these daily drops I'd cut some off to keep the size down each day and ended up with a bit of a hodgepodge of remainders from those lists. These are some who remain. Today Iet’s see if Kevin Huizenga, Juanjo Guarnido, Michael Golden, Alison Bechdel, Craig Thompson, Lewis Trondheim, Jim Sternako, or David Lloyd are in your top 10. Also want to pay respect to one name cats Seth and Jason. And going to ask if Stan Sakai is on your list. No to all of them except Jim Steranko, but Michael Golden is definitely knocking on the door of my top ten.

Day Twenty-Six Response and Wrap—Up
Eddie Campbell might come close if I re-read From Hell and finally read Bacchus.
Admire Rick Veitch for his don’t-give-a-damn attitude and how he somehow took over for Alan Moore and kept the book at pretty much the same highest level.
The rest are great artists, but none have runs that really move me, so my list stays at eight. Frank Miller Jack Kirby Carl Barks Alan Moore Mike Mignola Jeff Lemire Bernie Wrightson Matt Wagner

Day Twenty-Seven Choices
Back to knock out a few more as I look at some of those panels people are really showing off.
Today I want to to know if Pat Mills, John Wagner, Fiona Staples, or Jim Starlin is in your top 10.
I also want to throw one modern team out there for you who. Any Scott Snyder or Greg Capullo lovers out there?

Not read much by Mills and Wagner, so they're not under consideration for me.
Staples, Snyder and Capullo all do fine work, but none are particular favorites. Of the three, Staples rates the highest for me.
As for Starlin, if you asked me at any time of my first 25-30 years of comic fandom, he would have been an easy top 10 vote for me (along with George Perez), but over the last 20-25 years I've explored a lot more horizons and discovered a host of creators who have loomed large in my estimation, edging Starlin (and Perez) down the list a bit. Starlin would still make top 20 for me, but sits outside the top 10 looking in.
So my top 10 (8 slots filled) remains: Moebius, Joe Kubert, Darwyn Cooke, Milton Canniff, Frank Frazetta, Alex Raymond Jeff Smith, and Stan Sakai.

Again, no to all of them, although Starlin is among my higher tiers of favorite creators - just not in the top 10.
My list so far: John & Sal Buscema, Alan Moore, George Perez, Walt Simonson, John Byrne, and Alan Brennert

Pat Mills: no.
John Wagner: no.
Fiona Staples: ohh no.
Jim Starlin: no; interesting style and story concepts (which I consider a separate entity from adaptations), but that's certainly not enough for a top 10, or even a top 50.
Scott Snyder: no.
Greg Capullo: no.

Any Scott Snyder or Greg Capullo lovers out there? None of the above. I’ve only read Wagner’s Batman work. Very little of Mills. Staples is good on Saga, but that’s far from enough. American Vampire was okay, but everything else of Snyder’s I’ve actively disliked. I couldn’t pick Capullo’s art out of a lineup if I had a gun to my head. I’ve pretty much decided I hate Starlin’s writing and his art I find adequate but boring. Top Ten (Comic Books): Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Carl Barks, Darwyn Cooke, Warren Ellis, Jeff Smith, Garth Ennis, Ed Brubaker, Wally Wood, Tim Truman Top Ten (Comic Strips): Walt Kelly, Bill Watterson, Berke Breathed, Gary Larson, Milton Caniff, Charles Schulz, Al Williamson,

I really like most of John Wagner's work (mostly and especially "America"), but not Top 10.
Fiona Staples is high on my list of artist, but again not Top 10.
Rest of them: no.

Jim Starlin is the main creator responsible for me even liking comic books, and I think his cosmic Marvel is excellent. I will put him on my top ten, but bump Moore off for him (because I already have my order in mind).
Current: Jack Kirby, Joe Kubert, Jim Shooter, Jim Starlin, (Grant Morrison)

Any Scott Snyder or Greg Capullo lovers out there? Growing up in New Zealand, I was fortunate enough to be able to buy 2000 AD off the racks alongside American comic books, so I'm very familiar with Pat Mills and John Wagner. They were mainstays of my favorite era of the magazine and responsible for great runs like Judge Dredd, ABC Warriors, Nemesis the Warlock, Slaine and Strontium Dogs. I especially love Pat Mills' Nemesis the Warlock. Torquemada may be one of my favorite characters in all of comics. I like Staples' work on Saga but that's all of I've seen. There's a lot of Starlin that I like. The Death of Captain Marvel is one of the most moving stories I've ever read. The Metamorphosis Odyssey stuff I've read has been good. Thanos Quest was excellent. I don't love everything he's done, but I do like his work both as an artist and a writer. Scott Snyder is much too recent, though I've seen his name bandied about. The only Capullo I know is from X-Force and Spawn, and I've yet to acquire a Cartoonist Kayfabe-level appreciation of that stuff. My list so far: John Buscema, Gene Colan, Jaime & Gilbert Hernandez, Dan Clowes

Day Twenty-Seven Response and Wrap—Up
When the British 2000AD stuff started being readily available here in the US, I loved it all. But then, I’m ashamed to admit, I almost immediately dropped it all. It was a conscious decision based on my reading time, storage space, and income. I just like too many comics, and don’t have the time or space for everything, even if I had the money.
If I had flip flopped that decision, perhaps Pat Mills and John Wagner would be atop my writers list, and Judge Dredd a favorite character. I’ve accumulated and read a few of their stories over the decades and still enjoy them.
I really liked Wagner’s The Bogie Man, and need to track down the issues I’m missing and try to find the BBC show. Enjoy Mill’s Marshal Law too.
Fiona Staples has a great style and I love her art, need to catch up on Saga soon.
Jim Starlin is a creator who would probably make my list of most important/impactful to the industry. I’ve always at least somewhat enjoyed his art and writing, and really look forward to reading more of it.
Scott Snyder has written a lot of books I enjoy, and Greg Capullo can definitely draw well.
But a fairly easy day for me to stay at eight. Frank Miller Jack Kirby Carl Barks Alan Moore Mike Mignola Jeff Lemire Bernie Wrightson Matt Wagner
