I've had to put off checking out any of those 1999-2000 Thors I was interested in for another time, hopefully there will be more and lower priced copies later, had trouble finding a seller who had all issues in stock and postage is so high internationally. I'll be enjoying the classic #223-234 run just as soon as the pricey #225 arrives separately (took longer to find an affordable one that still was solid). My 223 had the 'value stamp' clipped so the bargain wasn't quite as good on the set I found for 223-224,226-231 as I hoped. Darn those stamps, but they were intact in all the others... whew! My #226 is particularly high grade though, the rest being more FN+, then the last three of the run are also very sharp. Why am I seeing Galactus' knees though! It's been a long time since I actually owned Fantastic Four #49 & 50... did he really have bare legs? Looks like maybe he's wearing socks too...

He had them in the original appearance and I think they were never seen again. I found many of the Thors in local comic shows pretty inexpensively , but as you get lower in the numbers, they get more pricey. Good luck.

I was recently in the US (Oregon) visiting my sister, so I took advantage of the cheap or free shipping offered by many eBay vendors and bought some stuff, including a pretty hefty order from Lone Star, which included a few things I've been wanting to pick up for a while, like the first Hulk pocketbook, and this particular Batman digest: A very inexpensive, but rather tattered copy of the Illustrated Harlan Ellison: And, finally, something I've been wanting to get for ages, but high postage always made it too costly to have mailed to Europe: the complete, original Noble run of Justice Machine:

this particular Batman digest Noble run of Justice Machine I had that Batman digest, I think maybe there was some Neal Adams Ras-Al-Ghul in it? But I only had the first issue of Justice Machine (probably for the Byrne cover as much as anything, I was collecting his work completest style). Today a big run of Marvel Two-In-One showed up, mostly 'Project Pegasus/Serpent Crown' issues. I had some 'back in the day' and missed others... that was when you could miss things at newsstands pretty easily before I had found a wonderful seeming invention called a comic book shop that would actually set aside titles you wanted for you and even a chance to catch up to those numbers you'd missed! Lots of memories and exciting to see the parts I never saw... lots of George Perez, Jerry Bingham, Gene Day, John Byrne and Joe Sinnott. Also filled the one hole left in Marvel's Greatest Comics reprint title so I have #49-84, woo hoo! Just waiting on the Thor #225 still (and also a Gene Clark CD). I did pick up some vintage Dave Cockrum... Starjammers #1 & 2 (of 2) from 1990, which I've read and enjoyed. I have Futurians #1 from 1985 but might wait and see if I can get #2 & 3 of that before really reading it, and the Marvel Graphic Novel if I can find that at an affordable price, but I'm done buying by mail for a little while now.

I might have extra copies of one or both of those Futurians issues. I'll check when I get a chance and if I do and you want them I will send them along gratis, but it might be a little bit before I can dig through stuff to see if I still have the doubles. -M

A very kind offer! I'd been looking for awhile and not finding what I was hoping for and then one seller I've dealt with a bunch of times before has the Futurians GN, #2, 3 and the later #0, so I made an offer on all four with combined postage. It doesn't add up to too much so even though I said I'd be done... we'll see if they accept the offer, but thank you for your own offer!

Just let me know if you still need them once that is all resolved. I will also plug our Classic Comic Exchange thread here for those who may be newer and haven't seen it updated recently. Several of us often offer up doubles or books we are getting rid of to a good home or to trade with other members. Most of it is worked out via PM but feel free to post in the thread if you have stuff or are looking for something in particular. -M

: I remember buying the first 3 issues of this series. It's big letdown from a Bryne cover to the less than great inside artwork.

I made the deal, $22 Canadian seems pretty good, hard to get that Marvel Graphic Novel for that, the other three averaged $2 each... so i think Futurians collection complete, I wish there were dozens more past #3, it looks good and I liked the Starjammers a lot.
I like the look of those later Thors, and I know I like Dan Jurgens art... I'll have to go to the local shop soon and see what they have of them.
P.S. If we (anyone here) disagree on the adult content stuff that's fine, don't worry about it, I can see exceptions once in awhile and it was with the original Phoenix story that I got hooked on X-men (plus a character my age introduced I could relate to). I'll see what I might have for trading/donating... I don't have more than a couple doubles but there are things here and there I ended up with that I didn't particularly want (like a Creatures On The Loose #29 to get the Man Wolf run of it). Have some old promo posters for things I never even bought somewhere, a store used to give them away.

Oh I love me some promo posters (I am more an art and print/poster collector than I am a comic collector these days. I buy comics I want to read, but I collect art/prints). -M

In terms of the stories, how is that volume Icctrombone?
Only Thor I have read has been Simonson's run, a smattering of older 70s issues and Aaron's series from a few years ago now.

I read some of the beginning of the series and it has solid work by Jurgens and Romita jr in the style of the Kirby/ Lee stuff. I read smatterings of the other issues and it is pretty good. The ending of the series is Ragnorok and they all disappear for a few years. It also goes together with Avengers: disassembled.
