We went back. These were more expensive, but still a good deal, so I had to get them. ![](https://i.imgur.com/FzOQK00.jpg) Obviously, as an Archie fan, I had to have Mad #12 for my collection! ![](https://i.imgur.com/ESnGFyr.jpg) These are amazing. Are they comic sized? EDIT : There was a french magazine in Québec called Safarir (like Mad or Cracked) who did an Archie parody in the 90's. You might need it for your collection! You can see images of the parody here : www.ebay.com/itm/383117873050OMG! That’s hilarious!

Are they comic sized? Yes, these are all comics. I think the first magazine size was #24. They also had several issues of Humbug, but I didn't pick those up.

My last 'big' purchase for the year...a megaload of FABLES
Issues #11-123 (Full Run); Trades Vol 1 & 2 (contains #1-10) and Literals #1-3. After everything, cost per book approx 64 cents
I have #1 somewhere in my stash so I'll just fill in the rest another time....this bulk buy took care of almost everything else.

Treated myself to some Kurtzman yesterday ![](https://comicvine.gamespot.com/a/uploads/scale_large/12/124613/3087045-humbug%20v1957%20006%20%281957%29%20pagecover.jpg)
I have never seen this... congrats and thanks for posting it! adding to my want list now...
Thank you. I love Kurtzman and his sense of design. If you Wiki about Humbug, you can understand why it didn't sell that well. It was intended to be Mad and Trump magazine size but the interiors are gorgeous. Also, this killer Jack Davis cover is by far the best of the 11 issues that came out.

I really didn't want to buy yet another collection of early Spider-Man material. While Lee/Ditko era Spidey is an absolute favorite, I've somehow acquired 6 collections over the years of the same material. So when Taschen announced this oversized collection, my immediate reaction was "that's nice", but pricey, bulky, and again, just didn't need. Until I read how they tried to restore historical coloring: www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/graphic_design/all/01152/facts.marvel_comics_library_spider_man_vol_1_19621964.htmI couldn't resist, and this showed up today (regular Masterworks to the right for size comparison): ![](https://i.imgur.com/JwCIFqQ.jpg) This thing is incredible in person. Contains AF #15 and ASM 1-19 plus Annual #1. Lots of great bonus content as well. Recreation of the historical coloring, and a mix of special papers used to simulate front/back covers versus interior pages. And full historical interior content including ads, letters, etc. to complete the "historical replica" approach. The last picture compares the coloring to a Masterworks volume. I can't wait to read this cover to cover. ![](https://i.imgur.com/oaGKIR8.jpg) ![](https://i.imgur.com/dKNU8bo.jpg)

I never use my Reward points for anything there, so I have been dumping my daily limit into chances to win one of those. I doubt anything will come of it, but it does look like an amazing package, albeit out of my price range. From what I understand, it is a long term program in partnership with Taschen, and volumes featuring Avengers and FF are already in the pipeline. -M

The mix of slick paper for the covers and then newsprint feel for the interior pages really enhances the experience, and again the coloring just "looks right". But I hear you on price, personally I'm only springing for this one and "maybe" an FF one at most cool as this is. Good luck on the giveaway, you never know!

It's a $200.00 Hardcover and weighs just over 10 pounds because of its size. Will be getting one early in the New Year methinks. I think you'll really like it!!

Nothing special, so no pictures, but I did pick up Batman #434, Jonah Hex #26, and Conan the Barbarian #259 today for $1 each, pushing me just over $200 spent on classic comics in 2021.
