I'd take that in a 2.0 all day, every day. Even finding any copy is a major coup. They're out there, but they don't surface very often. And @mrp is gonna have a fit because it's a "red dress" cover... It's a great cover. I have a copy of it, but it's a cheat as I bought this when it came out... I doubt the original will ever be in my budgetary purview, so I'll settle for the cheat I do have already. But big congrats to Crimebuster on acquiring that grail. -M

It's a bit hard to believe that, by the time Mad had published this in 1954, Archie had already been around for almost 15 years!

I almost pulled the trigger on Youngblood # 3 for 1 buck. I put it back. It's a sickness.

Interesting. About a week ago I paid a guy 5 bucks to take a copy of that book off my hands...

I saw this on Facebook and wanted to see if you had this Mad Parody, Crimebuster . I've posted in another thread that I have some strong feelings on this story. In short, I love it, but it disturbed me as a kid. I love Archie in general, but EVERY time I read Archie now, this take on him is in the back of my mind, peeling away the layers of his idyllic universe.

There was another parody on an Archie type character that had him engaging in sex. It might have been a national lampoon book.

There was another parody on an Archie type character that had him engaging in sex. It might have been a national lampoon book. That was in a 1962 issue of Help!, a Goodman Beaver story by Kurtzman and Elder called "Goodman Goes Playboy". The Archie characters are portrayed as sex-crazed party animals who take the naive Goodman (a precursor to Little Annie Fanny) to an orgy. Archie Comics of course sued ethunter1.blogspot.com/2013/06/sunday-funnies-helps-goodman-beaver-and.html?m=1

Was Starchie a regular feature? Would be nice if there was a collected edition featuring Starchie if there was enough content.
And notice it's in colour....glorious colour....
