I put a low bid ($3) on OMAC #1 ... and I won! I should have it in a few days. I’ve read it before but it’s been a while. One of my friends had it in his little stack of comics. It was the late 1970s. I was like “WHAT EVEN IS THIS?” And he was like “It’s OMAC! You’ll hate it!” He was right. It took me several decades to come around on OMAC. I remember finding #1 in my mom's comic book collection in my teens and finding the artwork revolting. Eventually I came around to it as I got older, but later era Kirby is not my favorite when it comes to his artwork

I usually pin it around when he came to DC in the 70's thru his independent escapades

Anyone go shopping on Mile High Comics recently? This book in Fine is 167.00 and VF 282.00...what's so hot about it? I got it because it's a nice looking #200 edition
Mine falls somewhere in-between but might nudge VF if I get it pressed... and cost $5.50.
What a great cover! I've somehow never seen that one before.

#228 is also quite sought out, I paid almost a hundred bucks in an eBay auction for a VF+ copy (bought another at 15€, in FN/VFN condition for re-selling), it's still going strong: www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=51167727There’s a great many first appearances in the Hulk comic in the Bronze Age. I never thought any one of them got hot ( except the Wolverine issues. ) That issue is cold right now. Recent unslabbed copies on eBay are going for $20 or less. Copies graded 9.2 will get you $150, a 9.4 sold recently for roughly $250. The other valuable non-Wolverine “first” appearance in Bronze Age Hulk is Rocket Raccoon, although it’s only his first appearance in a comic series. It was the only issue between 182 and 400 I needed for the longest time, until I was given a copy by an incredibly generous member of this forum.

That 'Rocket Raccoon' debut, (which I totally forgot about) was one of my genuine bargain bin finds, I got a copy for $2
The seller had just received a massive liquidation stock of 7000 books for an anime event, and let anyone who showed up that day have a look. I pulled out about 130 books....my first big buy while still in my teens. My other big find, also for $2, was DCCP #26 (first New Teen Titans).

I have a pretty straight run of Hulk from around 180's ( Not the Wolverine books) til the end in 454. I have thought to sell them but they are not going for enough online to make it worth my wild. I don't want to give them away. I'd love to buy them off you, but I can already see the look in my wife's face when I tell her that...so, no.

Just placed a second, much smaller order with Lone Star/MyComicsShop.com. There were a few odds and ends I wanted to pick up, to wit:
West Coast Avengers Annual #1 Black Goliath #2 (completes the run) Fantastic Four Annual #17 (gives me every annual through 1986) Gunhawks #6 (completes the run) Martian Manhunter Special #1 New Adventures of Superboy #15-16 (2-part Earth-2 story) Spectre (1992) #2 (NOW I have the complete run) Teen Titans #46 (Earth-2 villain app.)
All for a hair under #35.
Cei-U! I summon the sweet deal!

Oh man, I remember Black Goliath! I think I bought all four (five?) issues brand-new right off the spinner rack! I haven’t seen them in decades. He fought Stilt-Man, right? And he had a peculiar supporting cast, I think.

I bid on a low grade copy of Detective Comics #266 and I won! Only $34! It’s complete and the cover is attached at one staple! Beyond that, who knows!
When it comes, I’ll have every issue of Detective from #262 to the present, which is ... I think the latest issue was #1055.

Cei-U! I summon the sweet deal! That Spectre series is way underrated, and the New Adventures of Superboy is just flat-out fun-- especially the issues with the Dial H backups.

Recent unslabbed copies on eBay are going for $20 or less. Copies graded 9.2 will get you $150, a 9.4 sold recently for roughly $250. I doubt you may find a copy as good as this one (or better) for less than $57 (which was the auction's final bid). Even today, this is what I see:
- Nothing on Spain (todocolección)
- Nothing on the UK (eBid)
- Nothing on eBay (Spain or continental Europe)
- Two copies on eBay.co.uk (CGC 7.0 for £75 and raw for £49.95)
- Nothing on UK's biggest shop, Silver Acre
- $99 on Mile High, so less than $40 with the discount for a Fine copy
Remember, not all of us live in the US, and eBay imposes quite a premium on imports when buying from this side.
PS: I forgot about issue 234, had to go with the true believers reprint on this one, as it was expensive and the reason was downright idiotic (first use of the name "Quasar" for the character).

There's also a Hulk issue that has the first appearance of the Thunderbolts that might be of worth.
