Mile High is out of control. Up until like 5 years ago, you could still get some things at a reasonable price when they were having the 60% off sale.. now even with the 60% off, they are still 3-4x a reasonable price.

Last time I looked at them, they were still more expensive that mycomicshop, even when they were having a 50% off sale!

I purchased the following off eBay:
Lois Lane #120 Batman #276 (with the Spook!) Black Magic #1 (1970s Kirby) Wonder Woman #329 Unexpected #191 and #194 (Giant 1970s Dollar Comics) Metal Men #18 Super Powers #1 (for some reason) Justice League #115
When I get them, I’ll save them for a day off and have a comic book marathon.
I don’t know why I love the Spook so much. He’s so generic. He’s not even a comic book villain. He’s more of a lame villain from a bad 1940s movie where Bela Lugosi is the butler.

Not only does Batman #276 feature the Spook, its written by David V Reed! My cup runneth over! Is it a match made in Heaven? Or Hell?

One of the hardest DC Hardcovers to get....this one is 'like new' but has been well handled. Collecting tales illustrated by master comics artist Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez from SUPERMAN #294, 301, 302, 307-309 and 347, DC COMICS PRESENTS #1-4 and 17, and ALL-NEW COLLECTOR’S EDITION C-54 (Supes vs WW).

Agreed....I have all the originals and still thought the HC would be a bonus, and now it seems to be rare too.

Congrats on getting this one, I bought it when it came out (and now feel lucky), I love going back and re-reading this volume. Wonderful art of course and my sentimental favorite era of Superman.

I finally picked up this latest Legion collection reprinting some of the early 80's era. It's a really weird feeling because it literally bridges in my collection the earlier era Archive editions that effectively continued on with these new hardcovers to my deluxe editions of "The Great Darkness Saga" and the "Curse" I bought a little over a decade ago that take place immediately after. I bought my first Archive in the 90's, and now all of these years later, I basically have in reprint form a full run from the beginning up through Legion #313 plus the annuals. This takes us right to the start of the Baxter era (I have the two trades they did for that series as well). The "Tales of the Legion" issues that continued after #313 for one year concurrent with the Baxter series before turning into a reprint series still need published (there were some really good issues in that last run in my opinion). This last volume I was not terribly looking forward to. The glorious 70's run was over, and this was just before, as mentioned, the Great Darkness Saga that would usher in the Levitz/Giffen/Mahlstedt era. The Gerry Conway written issues are pretty painful to me, he really did not understand the characters at all. The art was also very mixed during this time, and while I love the idea that some Ditko was mixed in (one of my all-time favorite artists on one of my all-time favorite titles), even his material didn't particularly shine. The "Reflecto" saga is probably the main storyline of note (as pictured on the cover), plus Blok becoming a Legionnaire. Overall it's ok, still glad to have it. Contents include #272-283, DC Special Series #21, and The Best of DC Blue Ribbon Digest #24.

Received this in the mail today--
National Comics #64, cover date Feb. 1948. I was glad to get this one, it's roughly 5.0-6.0 condition, and checks off another issue in my Granny Gumshoe quest.

Wow, The Human Fly was really short in those days....

Not classic but a good " get". These two SD issues were missing in my run because of the Pandemic. I finally found them in a more reasonable price range. Now I have the entire Savage Dragon series from 1-261.

Now I have the entire Savage Dragon series from 1-261. Not being a Savage Dragon reader myself, I can't help but notice that it looks like Larsen's inking has become much more minimalist than the early days of SD, where the inking was quite detailed back then... or is he just doing his art on computer these days? Looking at past covers on GCD, looks like a big change in the cover art beginning around 2015-2016 to a simpler style.
