n Probably my least favourite arc in the TOTJ series. The story's too compressed, and all four inkers did an atrocious job. Still, I have a fondness for this take on the Jedi/Sith that just won't quit.

Not classic but a good " get". These two SD issues were missing in my run because of the Pandemic. I finally found them in a more reasonable price range. Now I have the entire Savage Dragon series from 1-261. Not being a Savage Dragon reader myself, I can't help but notice that it looks like Larsen's inking has become much more minimalist than the early days of SD, where the inking was quite detailed back then... or is he just doing his art on computer these days? Looking at past covers on GCD, looks like a big change in the cover art beginning around 2015-2016 to a simpler style. You could be right. I believe that many artists begin to use shortcuts as the years go on. It's also true that he is doing two books these days . He bought the Character " Ant " from it's creator a few years back and he's producing that book along with the SD book. While they are not both quite monthly, it's still a lot of work.

I bought Superman #249, the first appearance of Terra-Man.
I don’t know why. I was looking at some Lois Lane comics and some Wonder Woman comics, trying to fill in some runs I’m working on. I looked at “seller’s other items” to see if there was anything interesting. I got another issue of Black Magic. I got a beat-up copy of Sgt. Fury #110. Some other miscellaneous comics.
And a nice copy of Superman #249 for $12.
What the heck.
When I was a kid, one of my friends was a big Superman fan and he had quite a few issues of Superman and Action from 1970 to 1975. Ugh. I hated them. Those issues are my early exposure to Superman and are partly why it took me many years to begin to appreciate Superman.
And one of those stories was a later appearance of Terra-Man. Ugh. What an awful character. But I’ve thought about Terra-Man a lot over the years. I still think he’s a bad character, but I have long wanted to read a few more of his appearances.
So now I’ll have the first one!

Went to a book and comics fair being held in Zagreb over the past few days (went early Saturday evening, so luckily there was hardly any people there). Mainly I went because probably the best comics dealer in the country for English-language comics (he lives in another city) had a table. I bought two collections (a tpb and HC) as I normally do, but also did something unusual for me and picked up a few single issues as well: Joker's Apprentice is something I've wanted for some time now, mainly because the art is by von Eeden. The other two I picked up out of curiosity: I vaguely knew about but had never seen Marvel's Time Bandits adaptation, and the JLA issue from Englehart's run because the lead story features Willow, a thinly disguised DC version of Mantis.

^^ I love the Time Bandits adaptation, EdoBosnar. Tremendous art by David Lloyd, of V for Vendetta fame. I might even prefer it to the movie.

I bought Moon Knight Epic Collection vol. 3: Final Rest (reprinting Moon Knight #24-38). Between one Essential and two Epic Collections, I now have reprints of the whole first series of Moon Knight.
I also picked up some Daredevil. I had previously thought Daredevil #300 was a good stopping point to end my Daredevil vol. 1 collecting, but since then I changed course and picked up three post-300 Epic Collections. The most recent is Dead Man's Hand, which reprints Daredevil #301-311, Annual #8, and a bunch of crossover appearances. I also bought the Daredevil: Love and War GN by Miller and Sienkiewicz. But I purchased it off of Ebay, and it doesn't have tracking and it's been a week. I'm getting a bit nervous.
I also just ordered the Daredevil Epic Collection: Going Out West, which reprints the era when DD and Black Widow headed out to San Francisco. I already have all those issues via Essential TPBs, but I decided to splurge and get a color reprint now.

It was from a period where Marvel did a couple of adaptations with no fanfare... and no "deluxe" version in magazine or treasury form. I think this newsprint version is the only one they did. I've always wondered... with the David Lloyd art.. was this a Marvel UK comic that was ported over to America?

Certainly it was printed as a back-up strip in Marvel UK's Return of the Jedi Weekly comic, which is how I first read it. However, the GCD tells me that the U.S. one-shot is cover dated Feb 1982 (so, was on sale December 1981), whereas it didn't appear in the UK until January 1984.

Very happy with this very high grade copy of the rare #1 photo variant from the 2010 series.

God help me. I ordered a copy of DC Super Stars #10, the one with the baseball game between the heroes and the villains. One of the earliest books I ever bought off the spinner rack. I read it semi-recently and it was still fun, if utter nonsense.

Made my end of the month trip out to the lcs today and stopped by Dark Star as well. Fished some stuff out of the dollar bins at Dark Star... a couple of G.I. Combats off my Kubert want list... a trio of Scalphunter issues of Weird Western Tales... and the DC Special showcasing Sergio Aragones -M
