*And all three HCs of O'Neil's and Adams' Batman (though, I'm not sure O'Neil writes any in the first volume?). I know I will probably get shit for getting those Batman books (since, I *think* those are the books Confessor said Adams did touch-ups on?) But I do not care. I want them. And they soon will be mine. You'll get no s**t from me. To each his/her own. Myself, I'm a stickler for historical authenticity when it comes to reissues or reprintings. But I know that not everybody is as anal retentive about such things as me. You should hear me and my pal Damian argue about the remixes of The Doors' albums that were issued some years back. He likes the remixes, while I will accept nothing but the original '60s versions of those albums. We joke that it's the kind of schism that leads to religious wars!

Music definitely is something that could put people at war with each other. It's almost as bad as discussing religion and/or politics with people. Almost. I want those stories, and I'm not sure that I have any other choice than to get them in collected form because buying the singles, I'm sure, is not something I can really afford right now.

These comics weren't actually purchased by me, but they were purchased for me by loved ones for Christmas. I got the Marvel Comics: 75 Years of Cover Art book, volumes 6 and 7 of Charley's War, Alan Moore's From Hell, Marvel Masterworks: Avengers Vol. 2, and the Blake & Mortimer adventure The Yellow M. A pretty nice haul.

My final comic book purchase of the year I'm assuming, unless I get the Saga hardcover within the next couple days that is. The Best Comics Of The Decade 1980-1990 vol. 1

And a beautiful HC. Titan's been doing some excellent reprints over the past two years.

I got these for Chanukkah: Finished the Spider-Man book a few days ago. Some of the issues I had when I was younger, but most of it was new to me. Great writing, so-so art for the most part (except for the Byrne and Leonardi issues). Still it was a fun read.

Also was sent this for Christmas: I never used to like Corben's art when I was younger; his people looked weird and his 3D, almost photographic rendering was unsettling in an uncanny valley sort of way. But what can I say, since then something in my brain shifted and now I love it. I've also been getting into this era of horror and fantasy comics lately all of a sudden. Fortunately there are a lot of archive books out there now.

And thanks, Badwolf. I looked up Creepy and Eerie, and I have spent the last 45 minutes or so adding various HC collections to my IST wishlist. Now I need all of these. I hadn't heard of these before, but they seem like just the type of stories I'd love to read.

This needs to be in the Sexy Comic Covers thread.

We're just two days into the new year, and I'm already at it, spending money and increasing the size of the collection. I had some time today to get out of the house and decided to take a little trip down the river to a mall that has a very large LCS in it. My additions today were:
Black Goliath #1 - this one completed the very short series for me. Conan the Barbarian #32 Star Wars #51 Incredible Hulk #119, 151, and 175
Also grabbed Incredible Hulk #106-111 (the World War Hulk issues) for $.33 each, as well as 15 different Bendis/Maleev Daredevil issues for the same amount.
I also picked up a Marvel Two-In-One Essentials (#3) for my daughter from Half-Price Books. When I gave it to her, she gave me a huge hug and told me that I'm "the best dad ever." She's currently sitting on the couch next to me as I type, reading that book.

Got some nice bargain shopping in: Weird Western Tales #36 Warlord 20, 25-33 Superman 351-352 For under $10 total ($9.73 to be exact).. not good condition (FN- I'd say), but all intact and ready for me to read. Also got 7 issues of mid-80s Thor at Savers for a grand total of $1.74... hoping there's a couple I don't have

Where there is a dollar bin there will be issues of Warlord.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that $1 is about how much they cost, even from the big online sellers, when they have them. I guess someone needs to make a move for it to get some love
