Ditto that. I picked up some of the "New" Defenders issues that he did the covers for, and while the interior art isn't bad it wasn't Nowlan's. This was very early on in my first collecting and I was till getting use to cover art not matching interior art. Sometimes it's a good surprise and sometimes it's not. That Defenders run had amazing covers. I wish I'd kept those, partially for that reason. Frank Cirocco made some amazing contributions to that run. But favorite will always be #133...

I am not even going to talk about how much I want that. It wasn't a purchase of mine, but I was reading the Kirby Fourth World omnibuses (omnibi?) from the library a while ago and noticed they had volume 1 & 3, but not 2. I made a request to the library, which they ordered, and I was first on the wait list to take it out. ohohoh! I bet it's fantastic. And some pretty art? yes?

Volume 2 is way out of print and expensive, so I doubt your library will get a copy easily. Good luck! (it's probably interlibrary-loan-able though.)

I took delivery of the Marvelous Land of Oz treasury yesterday, which I scored off of eBay for cheap. I already have the Wizard of Oz one, so this is my second treasury issue. I really like the bigger format of the treasuries, with the artwork being much closer to the size of actual illustration boards that the artist would've drawn onto. I'm trying hard to resist the temptation of starting a treasury collection.

The Untold Legend of Batman #1
The best part of that particular mini-series, and not just because of the John Byrne artwork.

I have not posted on here in a bit but have added a number of interesting books to the ole collection.
First off, I snagged up a classic Tales To Astonish #80 off of ebay. It cost me $6 and was a solid mid grade book. The guy had some other stuff I was bidding on with this book and sadly, I did not get the nice bundle I wanted but this was still a cool ish to snag. I have limited Namor in my collection and I must say I don't love the character that much but I can appreciate him as one of Marvel/Timely's original heroes.
Next, I had some success in getting a couple books that, thanks to silly movie speculation, have gone way up. I worked out a straight up trade with a guy in town who was interested in the near complete run of Micronauts that I had been looking for the right person. I just could not get into the series myself and he really wanted them. Plus I threw in a complete run of Devil Dinosaur for him to enjoy. Seems like a lot but what I got back I was equally excited for. For starters, Batman 570-574, which has the first mainstream appearance of Harley Quinn (outside of the one shot). I was very stoked to get that little run. Next, he gave me a bunch of Swamp Thing. Some Moore issues, some early ones from the Saga Of Swamp Thing, some Vertigo issues from the later nineties/early 2000s and a few from the original series. Some were pretty beat up with lots of writing on the cover but I have a project I am working on so I can put them to good use.
But the piece de resistance, the book that I actually went to this guy's house hoping to find. He has a huge collection but I did not know what he had for duplicates and that is usually all he sells. I asked if he had any Suicide Squad stuff, new or old, because I wanted to give it a read. Welllll he starts flipping through and there is nothing until he gets to issue 1 and he has 2 copies. So he throws one on the table and says here you go! I don't know how I knew but I knew I would walk away with that issue. So I was super stoked! Very happy
Finally, while at home on the holidays, I hit up a new shop that sprung up. Got Batman #451, 453, V for Vendetta #9, X-Force #15, 19 and Green Arrow #101 all for a buck each. I will post pictures by tomorrow!

I ended up ordering 6 books the other day. I ordered: *Kirby's Fourth World omnibus vol. 1 *JLA omnibus vol. 1 *Punk Rock Jesus (hadn't even heard of this before, saw someone posted that they bought it, googled it, and decided I had to have it) *And all three HCs of O'Neil's and Adams' Batman (though, I'm not sure O'Neil writes any in the first volume?). I know I will probably get shit for getting those Batman books (since, I *think* those are the books Confessor said Adams did touch-ups on?) But I do not care. I want them. And they soon will be mine.
