Part of a motherload of pre Dec 1973 Mad
These were never bagged or boarded in their 50+ years, and simply boxed away with minimal (if any) handling. The only flaws are some age-spots and toning which I will try to have 'cleaned'. The back covers have not been folded in...these books were treated with care. Each copy cost less than half of a current issue, ie below $3 which is great for these vintage mags. I have another 150ish coming in but those are all 2002-2022 editions.

Up and Atom! Radioactive Man 1-6; missing issue 7. But I'm happy I found these for an affordable price.

I didn't actually even purchase this. It was free at my local library - they have a take a book, leave a book section. I've never actually even read Dick Tracy before, but this seems like a great opportunity to start. It's a book about Dick Tracy, but also reprints a lot of Dick Tracy strips.

I haven’t read that much Dick Tracy, but whenever I do get hold of a reprint collection, I find it irresistible and compelling.

I'm a HUGE Tracy fan but I've only ever read a library copy of that one. As a primer it's ok, but includes only one story from the classic era IIRC. Some cool historical bits and behind the scenes info. If you can find a copy of the Celebrated Cases of Dick Tracy (not hard, I come across them all the time) that's the real primer, despite flaws like some censorship, no Sunday strips, and an incomplete Flattop story

Up and Atom! Radioactive Man 1-6; missing issue 7. But I'm happy I found these for an affordable price. I had the original run (not including the 80 Page Giant) of Radioactive Man including two issues of the second in my original comic book collection. Lord only knows where that is now. Had some issues of Valiant's Super Mario Bros comics as well as few of Spider-Ham in there as well
It's up there with 1963 in terms of well-done parody and I think a lot of that credit goes to Steve Vance (who also did Adventures In The DC Universe)

I have a couple of Dick Tracy collections and I really enjoy the gritty and often surprisingly violent gangster vs. detective vibe of it all. The Golden Age newspaper strips are the best stuff.

In the mid-1970s, DC published a Limited Collector’s Edition of 1940s Dick Tracy comic strips. When I lived in Hollywood in the 1990s, one of my neighbors had it because he was a big Dick Tracy fan. I would go to his apartment in the morning and he would make coffee and I would read a few pages of Dick Tracy. I did this several times a week for a few months until I finished.
I think it was the Flattop storyline.
I’ve loved Dick Tracy ever since.

Now, THAT's the Mad I love! Those are some prime issues, from a prime era! I'm jealous!

Never heard of Dick Tracy, must be a parody of Tick Dracy Whie Tick Dracy is the name of the Tracy parody on EC's Panic #5, it was also the title of a similar parody in Nuts #4.

Just won this in the Lonestar auction for $3 tonight... it's in rough shape (only a 1.0) but it has a 10 page Matt Baker romance story in it and is from 1952. I'll snap up any 50's Baker romance books I can get for $3 a pop all day long. Now I just need to figure out what to add to make the shipping more palatable on a per book basis. -M

Archie Annual 5 (1953) I think 116 pages. Will see to getting the cover cleaned to nudge the grade up a bit.
Not bad shape for a flat twenty.
