My comic collecting waxes and wanes. I mean I'm almost always reading a comic, but every few months I get bit by a bug to collect again. So last Friday I went to my local comic shop and raided their dollar bin!
First we have issue 3 and 4 of Defenders of The Earth. Dind't realize this was only four issues, so definetly going to hunt down one and two. Thanks to the films I'm a big Phantom and Flash Gordon fan, and the cartoon isn't bad either. This fantastic drug PSA Teen Titans book helps me move closer to continuing my "too many Teen Titans books" collection. I am only missing afew issues of The New Teen Titans vol 1 and Tales of The Teen Titans, so finding an old Titans book I don't have is always a treat.
Next up a comic featuring the objectivelty best version of Captain America; Wolf Cap. As a 90's kid I ate that trash up lmao. Also a couple random issues of the second Vision and Scarlet Witch series. This was both for me and my wife, she loves Wanda in the movies and we both loved WandaVision so stuff with Scarlet Witch is always a good pickup. Plus the issues coming next will explain my original love of these two:
These are the ones I'm most excited for. My dad was really young when I was born in 1993, so his teenage comic collecting obssesion had really only been a few years before. Thanks to that I grew up reading, and loving, The West Coast Avengers. I don't know what it was about them, but I always liked them more than the main team even. So my dad is still hanging on to all his old comics (a sentiment I think most people here will understand) so I actually did not own any West Coast Avengers. I'm really trying to limit what I collect to specific series I'm trying to get complete runs of, but thanks to finding all these I guess West Coast is now on that list as well. Which I'm fine with, I find diving in the dollar bin to be very fun, and there's always lots of odds and ends for collections like this, especially as my big collections near the points where only books that are worth more than a dollar are all that's left.
This West Coast annual is part of the same LCS dollar dive, but these last two books actually were tossed in with some modern comics I bought off eBay. I've recently re-fell in love with Archie, so that's neat but not the era I really want to collect (also I just noticed it's from 2013 but in a month that'll be 10 years ago so please excuse me including it I don't want to retake the photo lol). Scooby-Doo is a series I do not even want to try to get a full set or anything (it's just too long), but I do LOVE Scooby-Doo, so this is a series I'm happy to pick up when I see for a dollar or less so getting it as a bonus is a blast.
Sorry this was so long, hope I didn't bore everyone with my milktoast pickups lol
