I am enjoying the Celebrated Cases of Dick Tracy so much that I went on eBay and found the DC Limited Collectors Edition that features Dick Tracy. It was an auction 20 minutes from being over! And no one had bid on it! So I got it for $8! That's awesome! Nothing better than when that happens

Comixology is having a sale on digital Marvel Masterworks. So I purchased the volumes that correspond to Avengers #21 to #68. For $9.95!
I already have the volumes for #1 to #20, so I’m thinking of starting at the beginning and reading up to #68. I’ve read them all before but never in order.

Sachs & Violens TPB... found in a used book store for $2. I have the issues signed by David and Perez, but this was too good not to pick up.

Well, I was gonna wait until my third book got here, but I was just bubbling over with excitement and had to share One of the things that I can't get over is how impossibly huge these tomes are. Here's a comparison shot with Fantastic Four Essentials

Discovered an awesome little hole in the wall shop selling used comic books and records today. Tons of boxes of comic books, absolutely none of them sorted, 50 cents for everything in the main room, and then in a tiny little side room everything in those boxes was $5 each, cash only. Lots of old vinyl everywhere you look as well (lots of obscure stuff). I got to talking with the owner, super cool guy, fellow guitar collector as well so we got chatting on to all kinds of stuff comics and music related (he's into a lot of more obscure late 60's and early 70's rock, stuff I really love as well but rarely do I meet people who share that interest and knowledge). He also said his goal was to set up his shop basically like he remembers places back in the late 70's and early 80's, which he nailed to a tee, it's a total time capsule. Anyhow, I picked these all up for $5 each, and my daughter grabbed a stack as well. Definitely need to go back when I have a few spare hours and really comb through the store. These are the type of discoveries that make collecting so much fun. We also checked out a cool little table top gaming store literally just down the same street, but that's a story for another thread and another day.

I watched the TV series, liked Maya (her eyebrows I guess). I didn't even know there was a comic.

Yeah, Charlton actually produced 2 series during the '75/'76 timeframe, a regular sized color series and then these which are B&W magazine format. I read the one on the left last night, nice mix of comic book stories and some text based content including articles and a short story. Love the Gray Morrow painted covers on these, and he did some of the interior work as well! I watched the show growing up as well, actually have the whole thing on DVD, it was a really intelligent series that I find very rewatchable.

Byrne is credited with contributing to #4 of the magazine (which I haven't picked up yet), but a mix of artists overall with I believe Gray Morrow being more the constant with that series. Totally agree though about the color comics, Byrne's stuff looks fantastic.

The current issue of the Judge Dredd Megazine has begun reprinting The Steel Claw, a strip that began in the 60s within the pages of Valiant. Some pics:

I would really like to get my hands on the one that reprinted Mills' Finn, which is probably my favorite 2000 AD character next to Aquila
Also got in my last christmas present on Saturday, IDW's TMNT Collection 2
