Found a solid copy of Star*Fems #2. Love that Gulacy cover so much. I am a big Gulacy fan but if Liefeld drew that twisted butt shot, there would be people with pitchforks gathering in this forum.  At least it's anatomically correct  |

They wouldn’t have pitchforks. They would be gathering to say, That’s not Liefeld. It’s not weird and stupid and awkward. You don’t need pitchforks for that. |

I purchased Detective Comics #232 off eBay.
The highlight of this issue is the Martian Manhunter’s dog! He rescues a basset hound from the river and calls him Jupiter. The dog keeps breaking out of his apartment and following him around, and Jupiter eventually rescues the Manhunter from a burning building!
The dog never appeared again, which is a shame. If I was writing the Martian Manhunter, I would bring back Jupiter so fast!

Wow, fantastic haul, @jaska ! That America's Best TV Comics is particularly intriguing. Thank you sir!  That America's Best was my favorite find in the whole batch. I found that while I was debating the FF #19 purchase. I've always really wanted that issue, one of my favorite early FF covers and I love how Kang (my favorite villain of all time) was later revealed as Rama-Tut. I started to waffle on spending the money, and looked up any older reprints of it that might be a "compromise" (I have the actual story reprinted in modern collections already), something still vintage. I found the America's Best TV Comics issue did just that, but also thought the rest of the comic book looked really cool. Then I decided it was now or never to get the actual FF issue, but couldn't pass on picking this up too! |

I'm obligated to the last batch, if for nothing but your unabashed and unfraid love of '90s Image titles. This is coming from someone who is unabashed and unafraid when it comes to Charlton romance titles and other offbeat stuff.
It's particularly interesting how you navigated the Operation Nightstrike books to avoid the Liefeld cover variants. I'd bring this up on tomorrow's Zoom call if I could make it.
