I was finally able to photograph most of the haul I teased a few pages back. Most of these are Bronze Age series' that looked cool/haven't read and decided to check out. Here we go! That's an epic haul! Thank you! Some of these I have no idea if they are any good or not, like for instance I got Starriors for the Sienkiewicz covers, etc. But I heard Team America, Thriller, and Light and Darkness War are must reads. They were all mostly very cheap and the entire haul was covered by trade-in credit.

A huge haul of third-tier titles. Love it. I'd be psyched to read any of the issues you picked up. And this is the second time I've seen Team America mentioned today... hmmmmm.

They were all mostly very cheap and the entire haul was covered by trade-in credit. Thriller's excellent when it's Robert Loren Fleming and Trevor von Eeden. They got booted off the book a few issues before it was cancelled, and I don't think that the new creative team had any idea of what the book was about. But those Fleming/von Eeden issues are a true lost classic-- so ahead of its time.
Light and Darkness is also very good. Probably the best work Tom Veitch has done in comics. Cam Kennedy's art is excellent as always.
World Without End is a great book, too, but like a lot of Jamie Delano's work, it can be a bit heavy-handed with its politics.
A lot of people consider Atari Force to be Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez' best work. I'm not sure I agree with that-- I'd go with Twilight, personally-- but Atari Force is so much better than you'd expect.

I went to the Phoenix Comic Con this past weekend, and came away with 122 books. I won't list them all, but here are some highlights and a summary: Avengers #169 - completes my Avengers run! Not quite as nice a copy as I would have liked, but good enough, the best I saw there, and only a buck. Action Comics #521 - completes Action #500 to #904. Lots of $0.50 and $1.00 books, especially Adventure Comics, Legends of the Dark Knight, Shadow of the Bat, DC Comics Presents, and Marvel Two-In-One. And of course the good stuff, including silver: and gold: awesome Haul!

I feel as giddy as the kid I was in the early 80s, when we'd go visit my grandma in the big city (Montreal) where there were American comics for sale at all news outlets! Here's what I picked up today from what was essentially a garage sale!!! (Okay, I had to drive 45 minutes each way, but it was definitely worth it). Despite the photo's low quality, we can distinguish Creeper #2 and 6, the Adventure comics with the origin of Black Orchid, a Batman family book wirth Michael Golden art, an issue of Rima, another Adventure with Phantom Stranger, and plenty of goodies from Marvel (including the Shanna issue with the Steranko cover). Then there was a whole bunch of #1 from Atlas, uncluding the two IronJaw first issues. And of course plenty of Dell goodies and two cool Charltons. But that's not all! As long as there's a dollar left in my wallet, I have no reason to stop! Three early issues of Astonishing tales, Spider-Woman #1, two more Marvel Premiere issues (love that title!) and teo Master of Kung Fu I hadn't read. Plus a Hulk issue drawn by Herb Trimpe. This is BLISS! BLISS, I tell you!!! Awesome Haul man

I've been picking up a lot of stuff like this in dollar stores. I've gotten an awful lot of Master of Kung Fu's recently.

So many titles I have never seen or heard of before. I want that Epic series now. Titan is collecting it this in May in a nice HC if you can wait a few months. Titan's HCs are a bit pricey, but really an excellent package altogether. They've put out some really great books over the past two years.
