Icctrombone- Thor is your favorite, isn't he? :)Thor is great. I got the fever to collect all the books that I didn't have late last year. I'm surprised at how cheap they are. I'm not too fond of the newer look for him, though.

Though, I did much care for JA's Thor when I was still reading it.

^ He is the reason I started on Thor. Started with his stuff, have read older Bronze age and some newer and nothing else compares. I like the older art on the covers but storywise, they are pretty ho hum.

Sandmam Mystery Theatre #2-28, #30-62, #64-68 My favorite series of all time. So... good purchase! I was looking at Sandman (Wesley Dodds) stuff over the weekend, and I wasn't sure if all that stuff would be worth having a go at it. I've seen some internet search scans of this, though, and I am quite loving that art. I will have to have a real look in the future.

I just went looking for SS vol. 2 in MMWs, and OF COURSE it's out of print. And I'm going to be done with this 1-6 volume, like, today or tomorrow. does it have to be out of print??? Okay, wait, NM, I can get it in paperback through IST. I just want to read the series. That is all.

I didn't get into Sandman Mystery Theatre when it was being published, but I think I'd like it a lot now. I should pick up one of the trades sometime...

That happens a lot in my classic comics reading. When I was a kid (1980s) I would have absolutely P***ed that there weren't any superheroes (or Conan) in a comic I was reading. 25 years later I could give not one dot about superheroes and want War, Westerns and anything else non-superhero. But still Conan. Sandman Mystery Theater is great.

I'm a few weeks late in posting about this, but I got the last four issues of Promethea that I was missing at a local comic shop's half-price sale the weekend after Christmas. I now have all 32 issues for a total outlay under $40. One of the issues I got at that sale is the last issue. I quickly read the other three and then started to re-read the series from #1, so when I get to #32 I'll have the whole story in my head.
I bought the bulk of the run from my neighbor's garage sale last summer. He had a dozen longboxes but I bought only Promethea and Planetary, having read good things about both. He was missing half-a-dozen issues of each, though. I completed the Planetary run at Frankenstein's Comic Book Swap, a local mini-con around Halloween, and picked up a couple of Promethea issues at the Jet City Comic Show in Tacoma in November.
