Yeah, Ollie's is pretty hit or miss. It pays to go in there every once in a while and see what they have. Last time I was there, a few months ago, nothing there really tempted me. This time, they had so much stuff that looked good that I couldn't even get it all. Of course, the graphic novels were all mixed up. I almost didn't spot some of these because that section is such a mess. I stopped by my Ollie's today and it was completely decimated in the GN section. Lots of holes and bare shelves, but I did find and pick up Absolute Promethea Vol. 3. Looking forward to experiencing the J.H. Williams art in that oversized format. MSRP $99.99, it was only $19.99. -M Sorry to hear that, but at least you got something.

Interesting, I got that Supergirl and Suicide squad volums like 2 years ago at Ollie.. I guess someone found some more. My last successful Ollies trip was a grand opening on my way to work, I got a few current-ish trades for a couple dollars each the last volume of Ennis' Hellblazer (which I'm reading now) and a few actual books. I went back about 2 months later, and it was clear they hadn't restocked either the books or the comics, there was just a few dregs from that previous trip and ALOT of empty space.
It is most definitely hit or miss! I keep hoping some Marvel guys will end up there, but no luck

I keep hoping some Marvel guys will end up there, but no luck I've seen a few Marvel omnibus (Jim Lee X-Men, GotG, Deadpool, etc.) and even a couple of the Vibranium Editions show up in Ollie's, so the Marvel stuff has been there, just not really stuff I was interested in. I have picked up a stray Epic Collection (Iron Man, Star Wars) before. -M

I mean the action figures... they seem to get alot of Star Wars, but never any Marvel.
Yeah, I definitely got a couple epics there.. not the last few times though.

My birthday’s coming up, and this is the time of year where I buy myself something from the eclectic want list.
I chose House of Mystery #143, with the infamous cover where Zook has grown to a very large size and is about to crush the Martian Manhunter!

Marvel Legends no. Titan figures, they have a metric butt ton of Marvel. The 5 point articulation Marvel action figures that populate Dollar General and Family Dollar type stores, another metric butt ton, Schneider Marvel mini statues/PVC figures, another metric butt ton, Mech Strike Marvel figures, metric butt ton, the weird looking not quite Imaginext bendy toddler targeted Marvel figures, Meteric butt ton, Shang Chi action figures, metric butt ton...they have tons of Marvel toys, Marvel Legends seems to be the only one that they don't have for Marvel figures. -M

Gold mine at Ollie's! I got a Bronze Age Robin Omnibus, Silver Age Legion of Super-Heroes Omnibus Vol. 1, and a New Gods hardcover with the Gerry Conway revival from the 70's. All marked way down. For instance, the Robin Omnibus has a cover price of $125.00 and I got it for $34.99. They also had some others I was sorely tempeted by - Superman Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 4, a Wonder Woman Omnibus with stories from about 1993 (George Perez's name was on it so that's what got me interested) and a Geoff John JLA TPB and a Squirrel Girl TPB. Well, if I get an Ollies coupon on the next few weeks I may go back and get them. I figure I spent enough for one day. I'm excited about these ones! I picked up two Spirit Archives, 3 and 20, for 7.99 each... I debated about that New Gods book, but... Gerry Conway... he's either hit or miss in my book. Is his New Gods a hit or a miss? Also, really jealous of that Legion Omnibus. The Robin one too.

Plus it's got Don Newtons/Dan Adkins art, and I kinda like that art team, plus there's some George Perez art in it. Besides, I love the Bronze Age so if I can get a Brone Age colection for 74% off the cover price, that's really tough for me to pass up!

Picked up a cleaner copy of Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. I bought this originally at B Dalton books, which has their bar code on it. I'm afraid to take it so I bought an upgrade.

I love mod Wonder Woman. I read them one at a time as I got them from the San Bernardino County library system.
They are hilarious.
And speaking of hilarious ...
House of Mystery #143 came in the mail today!
I had forgotten that it’s the Idol-Head of Diabolu that transformed Zook into a mean giant.
I’ve only read a handful of the tales of the Idol-Head of Diabolu.
