I really enjoyed Force Works at the time.. I still feel like Century was wasted some. I never thought so much about the art at the time, I guess I didn't know better at the time

One of 2 coming in....I passed up on one signed by Neal Adams because there was no COA to authenticate it. Getting these in absolute perfect shape seems next to impossible, its larger Treasury size means there's at least one tiny ding, crease or colour rub somewhere. I'm happy with a 8.5 to 9.2 anyday.
This comic really rocked my world, as a kid. Superman was my favorite, and Neal's art (even though I didn't really put a name to the style, yet) was the best! And, as a fat, awkward, uncoordinated kid, boxing was the only sport I would really enjoy watching on sunday afternoons with my dad. Muhammad Ali was such a big personality, and so entertaining! And that cover! I would look at it for hours, flipping back and forth to the key to find all the celebrities... just a mountain of cool! I still kick myself for passing by Neal's booth a few years back at a con, where he was selling signed hardcover reprints for (GASP) $30...

I wanted to get one of those HC editions (there seems to be 2 of them, one is larger than the other) but some are being sold for the same price as a high grade original, in which case I will stick with the original. It's one of my Top 5 treasuries of all time.

I got my copy of Superman vs. Muhammad Ali for $35 at a secondhand book store in Lincoln City, Oregon a few years before the pandemic. I have no idea what numeric grade it would get.

I never thought so much about the art at the time, I guess I didn't know better at the time I picked up #11 off the comic racks and was hooked. Course that was 90's fair so it's not "weird" to me. And I agree with you about Century. He was easily the coolest character in concept from Force Works. Yet I can't think if I have seen him in any other book, unless it's just some random came appearances. Maybe a little bit of a crush on Spider-Woman :-)

Maybe a little bit of a crush on Spider-Woman :-) He turned up once when during the time when Wonder Man was a pacifist and almost a bad guy.. he had some sort of team that Century was in... can't recall the details, but that's the only one I remember. Edit: It was the 'revengers' in a New Avengers/Avengers annual story. He seems to have been named dropped (perhaps wallpaper) in an MCP story too, but thats it according to the Marvel Database.

That's storyline was so goofy. He turned against the Avengers and publicly went on talk shows disavowing their methods. It got abandoned fairly quickly.

Treated myself to some post Cake Day comics. Apologies about the glare off the mylites. Red Sonja #1 - Love that Buscema cover on #1. Red Sonja #s 1-3 - Amazing Simonson cover #1 Mary Wilshire's covers on 2 and 3 are fantastic too. Power Girl #1 - It's Power Girl. What's not to love Fantasy Quarterly- This is a real find. The interior and back cover aren't in the best condition, but that cover is solid. Also, signed by the Pinis inside. Score!

I think I'm becoming the new MRP. I've been binge buying for about 3 weeks now. Got these all from Zapp comics in Wayne NJ. All 50 cent books. So much for this classic story, all of these 50 cents each
