I'm not that sure about hardcover, to be honest, but Archie is having an insane blowout sale on their website right now. As in, a lot of stuff is marked form from $15 to $3, or from $10 to $2. In addition, there's a special 20% promo code on the site that you can apply as well. It's kinda nuts. I just bought 5 tpbs from them, and after the discount, the total was around $9.50 before shipping. The shipping was nearly as much as the books themselves. It's not classic Archie, but I'd recommend the recent Life with Archie series, where they are adults. On the Archie website right now, they have a bundle where the entire 5 volume collected series is marked form from $120 to $55, so it would only be $44 after the promo code is applied. That's a steal in my book. For another non-traditional choice, their New Crusaders superhero series from a couple years ago is on sale; the tpb is marked down from $15 to $3. I thought it was really good, and there's no time like right now to get it. Hey Scott, is it that bundle? : archiecomics.stores.yahoo.net/malibo6bu.htmlDoubt it since there's 6 books and you mentioned 5, but I can't find the one you're talking about, and I would be interested! Thanks! I am SOOO glad you asked first. Because I thought it was just me. But I cannot find them either. And I am interested as well!

ok, thanks...
Last question : does it included the Death of Archie you talked about a couple months ago in another thread? I just get confused why the series is here called The married Life and not Life with Archie...
Thanks a lot for your help by the way.

It looks like the cover of volume 6 is the cover from the death issue.

The shipping was not too bad for Canada (12,50$), but the exchange rate is pretty high right now... Coldwater : until tomorrow the discount code is 30%, not 20% as scott said, with he code "cold30"!

More Fun #7 and 8 (1936) Contain the 2nd and 3rd published works of Siegel and Shuster. Both are oversized and extremely rare. #8 is arguably in the top 10 rarest DC books.

Stopped in a junk store today and found a bunch of comics. They were asking way too much for the cool stuff - a low grade Superman #167, with the first Luthor-Brainiac team-up, was priced at $25 - but I did get almost the whole run of Mage for $8 total. These are the Image tpb/reprints form the late 90's. They didn't seem to have the first issue, so I am missing the beginning of the story. Annoyingly, I discovered after I got home that the first issue for no apparent reason actually has #9 on the cover, plus some other misprinted information; they had this issue at the store, but it seemed to be reprinting the same material as one of the other trades, so I left it. Good job, Image. Well done. I guess I'll have to stop back in there again next time I have the chance.

Also got this in the mail today - it's an unopened box of Archie trading cards from 1992. Weird, right?

Hey remember me? Anyway, it's been a good long while since I've had anything to post. But I do now... I won this at an auction on Comic Connect. It's in the 6.0-6.5 range. I'll give the Comic Connect people bonus points for grading on the conservative side; the comic buyer at my LCS said he would grade it at 6.5, which made my day. (In fact he said he would buy the comic from me for the same price that I paid for it -- and then mark it up nearly 100% -- so I guess I got an okay deal.) With this purchase, I am down to need just three more issues of ASM for a full run (1, 3 & 4). I also need to get a copy of annual number 1... Happy collecting, Tom P.S. Even though I post less often (these last bunch of ASM's are expensive!), I still keep up with this thread. I love checking out what you guys are buying!

When I have my occasional relapses into card collecting, it always amazes me.. there was an incredible breadth of stuff released in the 80s and 90s... and none of it is worth anything today. You can find unopened boxes of mid-80s and 90s cards of all sorts on e-bay for less than the sold for originally. Also, Mike, AMAZING...owning comics from 1936 must be so COOL.
