That is good news. It means I will only have to run my back issues to #94 and can still get the entire series once I pick up the 2nd and now 3rd Omnibus editions.

Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't complete Kirby's run but I'll get it.

I received it as a gift, but yesterday I got the first Marvel Star Wars Omnibus. Looking forward to revisiting my childhood with this one (and participating more in Confessor's review thread!)

I ordered MMW Daredevil vol.1 HC today. it is a second edition (which, you know, whatever?), but I am excited that I will now own this. I loved Daredevil when I was collecting comics as a kid in the 1970s, and the back issues were so cheap! I got a Daredevil #6 for $3 about 1976 or so. It was a solid VF! Within a few years I had #2 to #11, most of them in VF or better. I eventually got a beat-up #1 for $30.
The Wally Wood art is incredible. And those early DD villains ... what a bunch of oddballs! Wait till you see .. The Fellowship of Fear!
Of course, my favorite run from 1960s DD is the Mike Murdock issues, roughly #25 to #41, I think. For a year and a half, Matt protected his secret identity by pretending to be his own heretofore unmentioned twin brother!

Just got Smurfs Anthology vol. 3.
Looks like I'm falling behind on a few reprint series I've been following. I wouldn't have bought this if not for the unexpected $15 Amazon card, but can't wait to get it.

When it rains, it pours. Got some solid buys lately. Start it off with Batman #236, Detective Comics #392 and #576 and Action Comics #544. All in nice shape except for the older 'Tec issue. Very happy to have a few more Neal Adams Batman covers in the ole collection. Then, I got super lucky and scored a key Spidey ish. I am waiting until it comes in to reveal (and will post pics of the above also). Finally, scored ASM #24. I had a copy a few years ago that I sold because the condition it came in was not what I had expected. The same seller also had Aquaman #54 which I scooped up (in decent shape and my first Aquaman issue!) as well as this. Not sure if anyone can offer any insight on this comic. Bernie Wrightson on Spider-Man!?! I never knew! Super stoked and hope it is a good read...the artwork will surely be top notch. When

When Someone just commented on Hooky in the What Classic Comics have you read thread I think, I know I responded to the post about it, and think that was the thread. It's a decent story, Putney was a fantasy writer who co-wrote some stuff with Dean Koontz early in his career and yes it is Wrightson so it looks amazing. MArvle reprinted in standard comic size format in 2012, but Wrightson's work is served much better by the oversize format of those early GNs. -M

A brother who was a zany and wild guy. There is something about Silver Age DD that I love and Mike Murdock is definitely part of that. The D-list villains are a hoot as well.

My two Golden Age Marvel Comics Masterworks arrived today, and I will probably dive into them after I finish the first GA Sub-Mariner volume. Excited to finally read these since I first learned about them from a reprint in the back of Invaders in the late 70s.

When It's weird. Very weird for a Spider-Man story, but...the artwork is utterly gorgeous. I only picked it up myself a year or so ago and I've only read it once. It's very "early '80s Heavy Metal magazine", rather than early '80s Amazing Spider-Man. It's entertaining though and definitely a keeper, if only for the artwork.

Got something really cool in today. As you guys know, I'm in in the process of putting together a full set of the calendars Marvel put out from 1975 through 1981. At present, I am just missing the 1981 calendar. Well, I'm still missing it, but I got in something today nearly as cool. it's not from Marvel, though. Behold! All the art is by the team of Neal Adams and Dick Giordano. Most of the art is by Adams with Giordano inks, but a couple months have art just by Giordano. Neal Adams Legion of Superheroes! The money shot. Justice League of America celebrating America's 200th birthday in style: Neal Adams absolutely kills it on this image of Captain Marvel. I wouldn't think he would be a good fit, but this is a great picture: Dick Giordano takes over the pencilling for this image of DC's women:

The 1976 DC calendar was $15 shipped, by the way. Worth every penny. The DC calendars certainly don't seem to be in as much demand as the Marvel ones. DC did make a second calendar so... let's just say I've got another little something something in the mail at the moment; when it arrives, there will be more vintage arty goodness.
