Cool! I bought Shade 1-8 myself a few years back. I was pleasantly surprised. It's quite good. Underrated Ditko series

This was the very first Spider-Man Annual published in England back in 1975. British annuals are weird...something published in 1984 could reprint comics from 1973, which is what the 1984 Spidey Annual did with Amazing Spidey 121-22. Very difficult to find this 1975 edition in high grade and 100% intact (ie no cover or spine damage, no loose pages, no writing, or clipped price). This one includes Amazing Spidey #129 (first Punisher). I'm amazed it's listed for almost £400.00 in the british comicspriceguide...and Chuckles starts listing his Annuals from 1978 so he doesn't even have this one....
I'll be putting this on the Top Shelf...almost 50 years old and a beauty...

Have some others to unpack, sort through etc, just posting the easy ones for now.
This is the rare 1:100 ratio variant of Black Widow #1 (2014 series), with cover by Milo Manara. Quite happy with the 9.6 grade.

Appears to be a rather tame cover by Minara standards!

Is that square bound? Very interesting I had no idea such a thing existed.

This year I have been selling my excess books for a dirt cheap starting price. I just want them out of the house. Too many sellers start their auctions at a high price and it doesn’t sell. I let the market decide.
I've seen auctions get 0 bids with low start off prices (eg $9.95) because no one stepped up, and then the following week when it's relisted, 5 bidders crawl out of nowhere and take it closer to $25.
The market can be a beeyotch.
I wouldn't look for a correlation between auctions and market tendencies, EXCEPT for veeeery sought after issues. Those are the only ones with a prayer of getting a respectable enough attendance, so that they can be considered representative.
People shouldn't picture Sotheby's when thinking about online auctions.

It's a Hardcover, or 'hardback' as they're sometimes referred to. British Annuals have been around since the late 30s, Marvel comic Annuals started in 1969 (I think there was a storybook Annual in '67).

good stuff in there! I love the Monica Rambeau lead Avengers, and of course Doom 2099 is great.
Those X-Men books are right in the middle of their peak, too.

August
Paid on the 24th, sent on the 24th, received on the 3rd (of September) via USPS + eBay International Shipping (DHL). American eBay seller (2nd Bruno order): This is my new favorite eBay seller. Fast, cheap shipping. Accurate grading. Easy to deal with. The deal was $200 for the 10 comics. Just the Hulk issue in that grade will set you back that amount almost anywhere, and I got some nice Hannigan's PPs thrown in. Including the 1st Cloak and Dagger.

Ordered on July 27, invoiced and paid on August 1st and 5th respectively, sent on August 20 via USPS + Correos and received on September 5. Mile High (6th back-issue order): Not sure why (maybe because it went trough customs in Amsterdam instead of Madrid, maybe because it entered Spain at the end of August) but I paid no taxes on this one. This means that, out of 6 orders with Mile High, I've only ever paid extra on one occasion. Paired with the cheapest international postage in the whole comics industry, it still makes his comics attractive to European customers. The Len Wein era almost in its entirety + some Wolfman issues. Others might follow, but I must say, the 1st Black Cat appearance puts me off. I've only seen it going for a reasonable price at eBay once, and I arrived late. This was an auction, which means that by "reasonable" I don't mean "market reasonable". In this case, I mean "cheap"

Have you ordered 'lower grade' books from Mile High and received the intentionally upgraded books that he talks about in his newsletters?
Eg, ordering a VG and getting a higher grade book at no extra cost?

In honor of its Anniversary, I purchased the hardcover for ZERO HOUR: Crisis in time! Very nice purchase! I still remember reading this whole storyline back in the day, man that was crazy seeing Hal go evil (despite the much later revision by Geoff Johns on the explanation)! Fun read overall, and it also yielded my favorite version of the Legion of Super-Heroes post-Crisis, so Zero Hour gets extra points in my book.
