As happens too often, I'm slowing down more than I'd like on the newer stuff. I mean to to read something horror-related in October but left it too late and only managed a single issue, the one-shot Zombie Kings by Frank Cho. Not sure if this was meant to be the intro to a series or a movie or what but I haven't been able to find any follow-up to it. In November, I did manage to read Marini's two-part Noir Burlesque, which amounts to roughly 200 pages altogether. One of the best things I think Marini's done, his style was a really good fit for this crime story set in NYC in the 1940s. And I'm determined to read at least one big post-2000 book this month.
In 1990s comics, I'm close to the end of as far as I want to go for now with Hellblazer, having just finished Ennis's run, and I'm also near the end of Gaiman's Sandman. I'm still reading Love & Rockets, Eightball, Hate, Palookaville, Dirty Plotte, issue by issue, which sounds like a lot, but there weren't that many issues per month or in total of any of those so it isn't as much as it might seem.
1950s, steady progress made on Steve Canyon and Dan Dare. I'll soon be looking for replacements for those, however, since I'm nearing the end of the decade and hope to try something new once I get to 1960.
My task right now is to decide which "modern" or post-2000 comic(s) I want to read for December. I'd better decide soon or I won't have time for much.

I read a little over 100 comics in November, and have read more than 1200 for the year so far.
Some of the highlights for November include: The 2016 Nightwing series, Xenozoic Tales, Titan's Conan series, Batgirl Year One, Kelly Thompson's Birds of Prey, classic SSOC and the color specials from Marvel Super Special, the Count Dante mini, Usagi, and Waid's World's Finest.
Nothing wa sbad or ugly, but Lone Sloane Babel was a bit of a let down because Druillet didn't do the art and The Forged was not one of my favorite things Greg Rucka has written. It wasn't bad, I just didn't enjoyit as much as I have some of his other stuff.

November was a slow month for me, but I read some highly enjoyable stuff. The Moench/Gulacy LOTDK story was the best superhero book I've read in forever. Paper Girls is a blast that I'm thoroughly enjoying. Strikeforce: Morituri has been well worth my time. And The Drifting Classroom is a horror manga classic.
I'm trying to tie up a few loose ends before the end of the year, but I'm sure that I'll go off on a few more tangents before New Year's Eve.

Well, 2023 came up a little short for me. I like to aim for at least 365 books a year (I like the idea of making time for one book a day), but 321 isn't quite there. Still, I read some great stuff this year. Highlights include: *Finishing my reviews of THE BATMAN FAMILY AND BEYOND: 1975-1991. *FINALLY reading WALT SIMONSON'S THOR run from beginning to end. I liked it well enough, but I still feel like it's overrated. *Finally reading THE GREAT DARKNESS SAGA. *Acquiring and reading a giant stack of UK DISNEY COMICS. *Finally reading BLACK HOLE. *Reading PAPER GIRLS and having it utterly blow me away! *And reading a bunch of random 1950s comics I got for almost nothing at an LCS sale: Westerns, Sci-Fi, anthro characters, teen humor, promotional giveaways and public awareness campaigns; all corny and exceptionally fun! So not a bad year at all, even if I read less than I'd hoped to. Here's to the next one!

I ended the year with a 764 total. There was too many things pulling at me to read more. But at least I averaged more than 2 comics a day. I'm looking to read books that I've never read in my collection , 8 out 10 is my 2024 goal. I have around 14 thousand comics so if I read 1000 next year, I want to read 800 that I've never opened before.
Happy New Year everyone !
Edit: I might have to revise my 80% book rule. If I want to read complete runs, It will be necessary to read books that I've read . Let's see if I can do 65%. That might be more realistic.

302 1/2. Not a lot honestly. I was in a bit of funnybook readers block last year. I did, however, manage some reviews. And i had a record setting year reading prose (at least for the 14 years I’ve kept track).

I finished with 1324 for the year, not quite my 5/day goal (more like 3.5/day). It's down from 1749 form 2022, but I read more prose and watched more movies in '23 than I did in '22, so that made a difference how many comics I got to.
Could point to a lot of highlights, and luckily not too many low lights this year. We'll see how next year shakes out.

I made a push to finish a few things before the end of the year. For the most part, I was satisfied with what I accomplished.
I treated myself to The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck at Christmas and have been thoroughly enjoying it. Still trying to finish The Drifting Classroom from Halloween. It's a brilliant series but for some reason I prefer not to read it more than a chapter at a time. I'm almost up to date on Kingdom, which is an incredible feat since I'm 750 chapters in.
I finished a bunch of series this month. I knew Paper Girls couldn't pay off the build up. That's always the case when the set up is so fantastic. It was a fun series, however. The Marvel stuff was good, though the series are so short in the Alonso era. Strikeforce: Morituri was a rewarding read.
