These are relatively recent (less than a year old).... Attempts to get a decent picture of the youngster, Aja, as an adult cat.....    The only reason I didn't dropkick her stripey little maniacal butt out the door is because she is cute and occasionally lovable (on her terms, only). By contrast, this is my buddy, Derek....  He's just hard to film, since he soaks up the light. Aja finally got all sleepy and lovey and I got this one of her....  (Derek, behind my head, hanging out on the back of my desk chair) though this sums up our relationship.....  (It may look cute; but, she does this to me when I am using the facilities, in the bathroom!) She is my late wife's last joke on me, as she was determined that she wanted a kitten, a female one, who would be her "cuddle kitty", like her previous cat, Girlie. I was surprised with word that she had adopted the kitten, through an agency and that I had to go down, on my day off and pick up the little ball of fur (and teeth and claws) and fork over the adoption fee (she adopts, I pay) and no argument was allowed. So, home this little Hobbes-in-training came and home is where she has wreaked havoc, for a year and about 3/4. She did cuddle, to a point with my wife, but anyone with an X chromosome was fair game for mayhem. Derek and I just huddled together for mutual protection. Now, with the wife gone, she has taken to lulling me into a false sense of security by getting all lovey-dovey (usually after I have had my morning shower and bathroom routine and am trying to dress for work)....then biting me when she has had her fill....and waking me up at 4 in the morning to lift up the blanket so she can hang out under there for a bit. Derek and I should have the advantage of numbers; but, two Ys don't trump an outsized XX. |

ps Her relationship with Derek is rather like Cato and Inspector Clouseau (with Aja as Cato) and I'm pretty certain I am Chief Inspector Dreyfuss, in this picture, slowly being driven insane. My eye has gotten kind of twitchy.
