As much as I dislike Werewolf by Night, I would argue that there are a fair amount of horror elements to it. It’s targeted at superhero fans, but you could probably argue that the reason it was cancelled was because it didn’t veer enough into that territory.

I haven't read a ton of Werewolf by Night, but the little I've read suggests that it's biggest problem was being a horror premise confined by superhero morality. The Werewolf was never allowed to do anything so horrible that it might make Jack Russell less sympathetic to the reader.

I haven't read a ton of Werewolf by Night, but the little I've read suggests that it's biggest problem was being a horror premise confined by superhero morality. The Werewolf was never allowed to do anything so horrible that it might make Jack Russell less sympathetic to the reader. Well, there is one amazing cliffhanger where: {Spoiler: Click to show} It appears that the Werewolf has mauled Jack's best friend to death. But as I said earlier, they chickened out on it .

I read Tales of the Zombie #1. The juxtaposition between Buscema's art and the Bill Everett reprint was trippy. It was interesting how they touched up the reprint to match the new version of the character. I like how he hasn't been in the ground for five minutes when they resurrect him and yet he already looks like a desiccated corpse with much longer hair.
